Sublime Scotland is a small family business which offers tailored private tours of 1-7 days, for up to four people. Tours are fun, relaxed and your guides are husband and wife, John and Susan, who are passionate about showing visitors around their country. If you have a group of 5-7 we can offer two vehicles for a truly luxurious experience. On a day tour you might visit the beautiful Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park or stunning Perthshire with the amazing Scone Palace. Longer trips explore the stunning sea lochs of the west coast, the mountains of the Highlands and the castles and gardens of the north. Each tour is individually designed with guests collected from anywhere in central Scotland. We travel in a top of the range Honda CRV or Ford Galaxy with tinted windows, leather seats and great sun roofs to show off the stunning mountain views.

Susan Ross at Sublime Scotland once again provided an expert guided tour for our family. We told her what we were interested in seeing, and she did the rest. Sublime Scotland can offer you a wonderful, carefully planned bespoke holiday tour throughout Scotland. Her van was roomy and comfortable, and she cheerfully shared her knowledge about the history of the sites we visited.
The best recommendation I can give is that we toured twice with Sublime Scotland, and most certainly will do again!

When my siblings, husband, and I started planning a trip to Scotland, we decided a guided tour would result in the best experience for all of us. We were right, and Sublime Scotland was the perfect fit. Susan helped us craft our itinerary, and John not only brought it into reality but also worked magic to incorporate side adventures like visiting Ardalanish Weavers on Mull. John and Susan’s enthusiasm for what they do and their love of Scotland, it’s history and culture, are palpable and infectious. They went the extra mile to make this an unforgettable experience. Saying farewell at then end of our tour was as hard as leaving Scotland.

There might not be enough superlatives here!
This was a one- day tour to Castle Drummond and the area, and Susan researched the area, covered suggestions, and suggested improvements in the pre- planning process. On the day, she met us at our ship and drove us to our site, with a stop at a charming local cafe along the way. She shared local history, willingly stopped for photos, and was a fun companion during all legs of the drive.
She is a conscientious driver and knowledgeable guide, as well as friendly and personable, making the driving part a pure pleasure. She was careful about our needs (one member of the party has mobility issues) and wonderfully prepared.
Hopefully I can add some photos later.
I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Susan and Sublime Scotland, and would do it again tomorrow.

We were traveling to the UK and Ireland on a cruise and our first port was Edinburgh. While planning our trip, none of the excursions offered by NCL really fit our interests. I was very fortunate to find Susan! She was flexible and was able to let us choose what we wanted to do that day. As first-time visitors to the UK, this was our first experience on our journey, and I was anxious that it would be nice for our group. The minute I met Susan I knew we were in good hands! Before we arrived at our first stop, Falkland (for the Outlander fans) we felt like she was a friend, not just a guide. Susan than took us to St. Andrews Golf club (for the golf fans). She made sure we were where we needed to be and kept us on schedule so we made it back to the ship on time! We hated for the day to be over. Looking back on our time in the UK and Ireland, I would choose to go back to Scotland for a more extended period of time. This is not just because Scotland is so amazing, because it is! It is also because Susan shared her love and knowledge of Scotland with us and made us love it as well! I absolutely recommend Sublime Scotland! I hope to see Scotland and Susan again!

We had a fantastic day travelling to various Outlander sites with John. He was patient with us as we had to get the exact perfect picture. John knew what we were looking for, as soon as we told him. Working with Susan and John from planning to travel was seamless. Lots of communication, punctual, knowledgeable and a great driver.

We wanted a travel partner for our trip to Scotland and Sublime Scotland was the perfect fit for us. Susan listened to the things we liked to do and then helped us map out our itinerary and recommended places to stay. She added some unique and wonderful surprises like a tour and water organ recital at St. Munn’s in Kilmun, falconry at Dunrobin, whisky tours in Tomatin and Oban, Highlands Games at Glamis, a visit to Balmoral and a peak into Crathie Kirk (where the Queen worshiped on Sundays), a visit to the sporan shop in Braemar after a lovely lunch and art tour at the Fife Arms, visits to ruins, and battlefields, gardens, and stops at several fabric stores for my wife who is a quilter. Oh, and did I mention, we visited twelve castles along the way! John was our driver and guide. He and Susan both have a deep love of their country and its history and can share facts and anecdotes as they drive you around the countryside. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for someone to partner with you to design the perfect bespoke tour of Scotland.

We had the pleasure of working both with Susan (planning) and John (tour). It was truly a delight. They are professional, knowledgeable, sincere, funny, and charming. Hiring Sublime was the best decision we made and if we are fortunate enough to visit Scotland again they’ll be the first to know!

We had a wonderful week touring Scotland with John. He was an excellent guide and driver. Trip was full of history and beauty. We started in Edinburgh and finished our week in Glasgow. Loved Scotland and highly recommend Sublime Scotland as your tour company!

John turned our beautiful trip into an amazing experience. We were on the fence if we would get a private driver/guide and went for it, and we are so glad we did! From our airport pickup (we got to meet Susan!) and through our entire journey, everything was meticulously and patiently arranged, yet totally open to spontaneity as we journeyed.
John was a fountain of knowledge about a lot of things and the story of the history of the land wove an incredible experience added to the sheer beauty abound. His love and pride in his country really show in his joy of sharing it with visitors. We had so much fun interweaving current and historical stories and events, joking lots, and the Scottish-themed soundtrack for our car rides hit the spot!
John also has a really great balance of showing, talking, and guiding; but knowing when to stay back and let us explore, relax, and just enjoy. He was incredibly patient, very thoughtful, and listened to us, adapting and changing the itinerary as we expressed what we really loved (or didn't.)
I was recovering from an ankle injury and was really disappointed about my lessened physical fitness, but he was so patient and helped me when I needed assistance and even tried to tailor a couple of hikes so we could experience a little of the wild countryside.
In all ways, we highly recommend your Scotland trip be with Sublime :)

We had an amazing 6 days with John seeing Scotland from Stirling to Glencoe to Skye, Inverness/Culloden and Pitlochry. Lots of castles and coos along the way with laughter, good food and John’s amazing knowledge of history and stories of Scotland. We got plenty of walking in, some wee hikes, which were perfect for us. We saw things we planned on and things we hadn’t(perfect!) and the schedule was accommodated to our needs. We would (will??!!!) book again with Sublime Scotland in a heartbeat. Thank you John and Susan for a most memorable time.
