- ragamuff1nLeyland, United Kingdom56 contributionsBest place ever, even in the rainI've been taking my children here for years and we loved it. We were gutted when it was flooded and closed. Finally able to book and even thou my girls are teenagers, we love it still as I said even when it rains. It was lovely to have a reminder email, welcoming us and reminding us of our upcoming visit. The British weather did not disappoint and upon turning up in the park, promptly threw it down. My girls are too old for the play area but the other kids were having a lovely time. We were hiding under the porch area, trying our best to keep our sandwiches dry. Our visit was booked for 2.15 and we started to queue from about 1.55. During this time the rain stopped. Staff were really pleasant and helpful. The Lido itself is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds (not that we needed them) and plenty of changing areas on the poolside and inside. The water temperature was lovely and it was great to be able either to swim in the swim lane or play in the main area. The girls still loved the inflatables in a separate area. Thank you to the Lido for keeping the costs down and making this such an enjoyable visit for everyone of all ages.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 July 2023

The lifeguards were attentive and did a great job. The cleanliness and maintenance of the changing rooms and showers was disappointing, they certainly need more attention on a daily basis and general upkeep. It was however good value for money.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 August 2023

We really enjoyed our time at Lido Ponty whilst holidaying in the area. We booked a morning session, just the tonic before the heat of the day.
The pool was clean and well kept.
An excellent experience

Rude staff, there was an incident that involved one of the children I was with.after the situation I was given a telling off, because of my appearance I do look at lot younger than I actually am, and feel that I was spoken to like I was a child and spoken down to, bare in mind I'm actually 34 year old woman.
I do believe that if I was a 6 foot man or and a person in their 70s I wouldn't have been spoken to in that manner.
This really upset me and ruined the experience which I usually enjoy.

Six of us went - two adults, two young children and two older children, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s like being on holiday abroad.
There baby pool was a tad cold, because that one is not heated, but the larger pool is. The activities were so much fun (but come at an additional cost), but still good value for money.
And afterwards we went to the park outside the pool complex, and that has so many thinks for the kids to do too - sand pit, zip line, slides, swings, monkey bars, just to name a few.
It’s a lovely day out and time flies so fast, as everyone, all ages, has so much fun.

During the summer holidays we visited the Lido at Pontypridd twice. Once with my son and both sets of grandparents and once with friends and their children. On both occasions everyone had a great time. The facility was immaculate and very safe with lots of lifeguards. Within the Lido there were three pools (a heated swimming pool, splash pool and an activity pool). Our son (and his friends on the second visit) loved playing in the fountains of the splash pool and we paid extra so that he could use the inflatable island. In our opinion the Lido was a real asset to the community, because it was a cheap day out (entrance for children up to the age of 16 was FREE and adults paid just £2). The on-site cafe (Caffi Lido) was fantastic and we ordered drinks and slush puppies. We received a lovely welcome on both occasions. The menu was varied and included children's meals, cooked breakfasts, burgers and chips, pizzas, salads, jacket potatoes, ice-cream, cakes and sandwiches.
Having spent several hours at the Lido, on both occasions we enjoyed a picnic at Ynysangharad park, also known as Ponty Park. There were lots of benches and the park was very busy with people enjoying the fantastic weather. After dinner we visited the playground where our son (and his friends on the second visit) enjoyed exploring the zip wire, swings, slides, sand pit, pirate ship, climbing frames and trampolines. Within the playground there was also equipment for children with disabilities.
The facilities at the park were fantastic and included tennis courts, a cricket pavilion, a bowling green, cafes, a band stand and historical gardens with statues, flower beds and trees. The park was very clean and positioned along side the River Taff, running parallel to the Town Centre. The town centre was lined with a lovely mix of shops including Warren James, Pep & Co, B & M bargains, Boots, the Card Factory, Peacocks and Iceland. There were also independent boutiques and jewellers, charity shops, an indoor market and outdoor weekly market. We would definitely recommend a visit to the Lido, Park and Pontypridd Town Centre because it was a cheap day out and the park was easy to access with three entrance's.

This place is such a gem! Came with my 12 and 9 year olds and they both absolutely loved it.
As well as a pool to swim (although too busy to do lengths) there is an inflatable obstacle course, a inflatable zorbing ball and a cute splash area for little ones.
There are lots of lifeguards and all of the staff are so friendly and helpful. It is phenomenally good value and feel incredibly lucky to have this so close to home.
Booking is a bit of a pain as you have to know when the tickets are being released for the whole month and be able to go online to book within 30 minutes of release in summer season… but totally worth the stress of trying to book. I would highly recommend!

What is cancellation policy

Children aged 8-15 go free. Under 8 years would need an adult. Adults pay a non-refundable fee. If you were to book a session for you 8+ years child, you could book another 5 non-paying children at the same time. They might not actually be your children. So, you could book for your and someone else's children, as soon as the Lido web site allows you to do so. I checked the Lido web site just now. The next two Saturday and Sunday sessions are fully booked. If your children don't want to go, who cares. It hasn't cost you anything.
