- Marge LWythall, United Kingdom341 contributionsTide coming InWe walked around the harbour to see how quickly the tide filled it up as at the start of our walk, there was no water in the harbour. We watched the sea coming in and it came in quite fast as by the time we had walked , stopped to look at the crabbing places and along the wall to the end, the harbour was already covered in water. We watched the people on the beach starting to move off as the tide was coming in quickly however, some dogs were still running into the sea as they were loving it. The beaches are really nice with soft sand sand plenty of seating areas. Thanks for the review Marge. The tide comes in so fast and the bay is so shallow. Its easy to get caught if you are not aware or used to it. Having said that its fantastic to watch. We do love our beaches too.Written 25 June 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 April 2024
- Escape6536431 contributionGreat fun and informative with really lovely staff! We had a truly great time at the Heritage Centre and on The Schooner! The exhibits are great fun and informative and highlight just how much history there is on this small part of the Welsh coast. My 10 year old son loved all the little things that you can interact with and particularly enjoyed pretending to be a pirate on the deck of the Schooner. Special mention must go to our museum guide Andrea, a wonderful lady who went out of her way to make sure we had loads of fun and got to know all the fun details about pirates and the local history of Saundersfoot. The exhibits are all fairly new and I'm sure more is going to be added in the near future. Its a fair price too and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone!Thank you for the wonderful review. I'll make sure Andrea, knows of your kind words. Come back soon, and be a Pirate when we have a Sunset Cinema to Pirates of the Caribbean. See you soon.Written 25 June 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 19 June 2024
- Cherriesfan99Cheltenham, United Kingdom2,235 contributionsTranquilConsidering its former usage in the C19th as a port exporting the locally mined coal, Saundersfoot Harbour is relatively small. These days it is an attractive yachting, and boating centre. It is complimented by some outstanding beaches , and rock cliffs - at low tide ! Surrounded by restaurants, cafes and ice cream palours, it is a peaceful summer scene. One of the intriguing features is that of the 10 designated crab fishing holes. The crab fishing holes are just a meter square, but 2 meters, or so above the sea , although this is depending on the tide. Great fun for the kids - tackle, nets. buckets and ineviably dry towels available from the shops surrounding the harbour. You're welcome! Saundersfoot Harbour is such a lovely spot. Its charm and beautiful scenery really stand out.Written 23 October 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 September 2024

Saundersfoot harbour is a quaint and probably usually beautiful place. Unfortunately there was two separate building sites one in the harbour and the other just round the corner which spoilt the overall beauty of the place. It can also be very busy and difficult to find a parking space in the harbour car park.

We enjoyed the view from the cafe. The food was average, When we eventually got it, and we had to ask for our drinks three times and they were still wrong. The staff were unfriendly and disinterested unless you had a dog with you! It is very small inside the cafe and there were almost more dogs than humans, it seems dogs are a higher priority in this cafe than humans! We’ve been to this cafe several times before and it has definitely deteriorated so we won’t be returning anytime soon.

Pretty little place and relatively peaceful
Strongly suggest if you plan a visit either drive or take the bus. The train station is well away from the town and the winding roads into saundersfoot from the station have very little in the way of pavements.
Not much in the way of shops and you have got to be careful when crossing the narrow roadways as traffic can be surprisingly heavy for such a small place with such narrow roadways

Nice view of the dry harbor with the boats that lie sloping and crooked
I ate a large piece of fish and chips from the restaurant next to the harbour, enjoyed a delicious meal while experiencing the ups and downs of port life
Paid parking, plenty of waste bins

beautiful harbour lovely beach just across the road to shops.
you can easily spend a good few hours here.
thought the parking charges a little steep £4.50 for 3 hours but i believe this goes to the upkeep of the habour not the council so thats good.

The harbour is situated adjacent to the village centre so the shops, cafes, pubs and eateries are all close by. The very large car park is at the harbour.
There are some short walks on the harbour and it affords nice views of the beach and the surrounding area. If you come to Saundersfoot you will see it by default when you park your car but it is worth a brief walk round.

My 12 year old son and his friend went to the open air cinema, great event, very friendly and they enjoyed it. I went to pike them up at 1045, waited in the car par, about 5 cars in there, i didn't even get out of the car and got a parking ticket in the post as the camera got me, i didn't even think of purchasing a ticket that time of night. I made a appeal to britaner parking but got told i had to pay the fine and threatened with det checkers. Its not trafic and parking management it just bulling and money making. Very sad spoil what would of been a perfet night

We loved the stroll, in the evening, down the hill to Saundersfoot. You get a great view down to the harbour. It is especially picturesque at sunset time. There are a number of bars and restaurants around the harbour to enjoy the peaceful surroundings .
