About
Our award-winning farm shop is food heaven… but our produce doesn't just taste great; we're proud to say it's locally sourced as far as possible, with much of it grown on our own farm. Nearly everything we sell has been produced right here in Yorkshire, whether it's our own fresh meat, Whitby fish, seasonal fruit and vegetables or delicious deli products from a host of artisan Yorkshire producers.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Second visit here and I'm glad I came back. The cafe was very busy but I managed to get a table. The service was very good. I wasn't kept waiting and the waiting staff were very friendly. I had homemade quiche which was very yummy. I treated myself to homemade treacle tart with homemade custard. Glad I did, wow! The farm shop was very good, full of local produce. Cedarbarn is well worth a visit and it's just outside Pickering.

Had lunch at the cafe , very busy and had a wait of about fifteen minutes which is hardly anything to complain about. Really good tasty food, home cooked and fresh, a good pud with real custard too.

Everywhere is spotless and the staff friendly and helpful. Excellent selection of food in the farm shop, especially meat and cheese and all at a reasonable price.

Really good to see a well run and thriving farm shop.

The farm shop is small but has a good range of products, we’d eaten in the cafe on Wednesday 4th Nov & visited the shop afterwards, lots of locally grown fruit & vegetables, locally sourced milk, eggs & honey as well as freshly baked bread.

As Christmas is approaching they had a number of hampers that were reasonably priced too.

There was a small choice of ready prepared meals both fresh & frozen as well as gluten free options.

We returned on Thursday to purchase a number of items, the fresh chicken Kiev was lovely the sausage roll was huge & delicious. We bought some of the fresh produce priced at £10 for 3 & when we opened the cool bag once home, the smell was amazing & made us wish we’d bought more.

On the Thursday a number of the cakes & pastries were being individually sealed & available for sale in the shop which was a great idea, there were a number of loaf type cakes such as carrot also available.

The only suggestion I’d make is to offer take away coffees for those visiting, we’d walked from Thornton & it would’ve been lovely to have had a hot drink (appreciate cafe was closed due to second lockdown but would’ve been a great option, as the cafe is the village was doing so).

You can only enter the shop with a trolley & they are limited to 4 at a time so no worries about the measures, felt very safe!

Called in first thing this morning for breakfast. Was lovely. Great produce. Staff friendly and helpful. All ways pass by and it's busy so we got there for opening this morning at 9am. Had a look round the farm shop as well.
