- Alan ARotherham, United Kingdom4 contributionsLovely seaside parkBeautiful little park at the opposite end to Morecambe where we were staying. It had everything you need-a train, a crazy golf course and a splash area. Very reasonable prices and enough to keep you entertained for a good part of the day. Saw that there was once a crinkly bottom Noel Edmonds area here but couldn’t find anything left. Will definitely recommend this placeVisited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 11 August 2023
- Simon TLancashire, United Kingdom4 contributionsGood to keep the kids happy for an hour or twoNice little visit today. Kids enjoyed the little splash area even though weather was not brilliant. Visit to the cafe afterwards which was clean and tidy. Staff friendly. Well worth a visit for a couple of hours.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 August 2023
- z0gzLancashire, United Kingdom31 contributionsGood local place for familiesI live locally and go often with my kids, but there’s a few things I’m not happy with and will be thinking twice about going in future. Firstly you need a pocketful of loose change to pay for the various things the kids want to go on. Prices are listed in other reviews. The park is council run overall but over the last year they have made changes, such as not opening the splash park on nice days out of school holidays, which they always used to. This means that toddlers and those with additional needs miss out on the experience. Locals have commented on social media but this has been ignored by the park. Secondly they have increased the cost, and now charge for parents to supervise in addition to the kids. And then, even though everything else is cash only, it’s card only for the splash park. They charge for toilets, which stink. The Japanese garden is looking untidy. None of the play equipment has been updated lately, including the play area that charges for entry. And then lastly, as others have said if you go to the cafe be prepared to queue for at least half an hour and it’s pot luck whether you even get your drink. The ice cream vans used to be lewises ice cream and very reasonable but now very overpriced and generic whippy . You’re talking nearly £12 for a family of 4 to get an ice cream. It’s still a good place to go for a picnic and play on a nice day.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 August 2023

If I could give 0 stars for this place I would. We came to Morecambe with Happy Mount Park looking like a great attraction for our toddlers to play outside. We knew with it being October, the splash park was closed but looking at the website information we presumed the rest would be open. Parking was a little walk away at the golf course next door at £4 for 4 hours, the train, swing boats, trampolines, outdoor play area and carousel were all closed and locked up. The soft play and adventure golf were last entry at 3pm, we got there just after. The Japanese garden was a mess and overgrown with nettles. Absolutely nothing appealing about the park, dog poo on the paths, cafe didn't look overly clean, definitely wouldn't bother visiting again.

What we saw was nice. Lovely flower beds and plenty of seats. We didn't venture too far, as the old legs were protesting but we did enjoy watching squirrels busily collecting nuts. It was the first nice afternoon for it.

The park itself looked pretty, lovely flowers. But charging children £1.50 each to play in a standard playground for an hour/2 hours who knows is utterly disgraceful. Ok charge for the train and the water park but a playground! We have Valley Gardens in Harrogate a much better playground and a splash pool which is free as it should be for all children to play. At happy mount park they only take cash and there’s no cash machine. The cafe is also pricey over £5 for a child’s lunch with no fruit and a Rice Krispie type cake. Would not return based on the sheer greed of charging for literally anything they can even the toilets! It sounds like a great place to visit for families but sadly it is not.

Took the whole family, staff in cafe were rude, it didn’t look clean either. Such a shame as the park itself is pretty.

Splash park v good value. Couldn't believe that there was a charge for the kids play ground though.
Extremely disappointed with the entrance. I remember it having beautiful flower beds . Just the remains of them with weeds in. And bowling green has either been closed or just plain ruined

There is no admission charge to get into the park. However many of the activities within the park do have to be paid for including the 'swing boats' little train,round-about etc. but it can be a cheap enjoyable way to spend a day. Enjoy!
Is there a pitch and putt course in the park?

Hi is this in walking distance from the train station?
Carol G
morecambe17 contributions
No, it would be a very long walk, but I'm sure buses run down the promenade. The station is towards the west end and the park is at the east end. Hope this helps.
