Had a fantastic day sailing on my own boat in the lakes with personal tuition from John, John was very helpful, Knowledgeable and above all patient!, I learnt some great skills that can only be taught by an experienced tutor. If you have your own boat and would like to learn new skills John is the man for the job, My next step is to take my day skipper course with Bay sea school.

Thanks John for a great days sailing,

An absolute pleasure to complete my Seamanship Skills course with John at Bay Sailing School in Morecombe.

John is a true Gentleman and his sailing tuition is first class with a relaxed yet professional style of coaching. John gave me the confidence to build on my existing skills (dinghy sailing L1&2), to full hands on the beautiful "Lily", their 22ft Jeanneau Sun 2000 keelboat/yacht.

I have my first Flotilla holiday planned around the Greek Ionian Islands and completing the Seamanship course has provided me with solid theory and practical expertise in course management, sail trimming, boat balance, reefing (vmt), anchoring and using transits to help decision making when manouvering under power / sail, especially in the fast flowing tidal waters at Morecombe!

Bay School are the real deal if you are serious about progressing your sailing experience and competence. Richly rewarding and worth every penny; thank you John and Deirdre. See you again very soon.

I bought this fun sail trip for husbands birthday , we both went out on Morecambe Bay sailing with the lovely John and another punter John( not Dave,John)
What a great thing to do - admittedly we were lucky with the weather but it would have been great even without it.
John's instruction was brilliant and we all managed to do some jobs without sinking the boat.
We sailed along the bay- Morecambe has wonderful views of the Lake District as well.
It has made us think we would like to do more sailing .
This is a very well organised, safe, fun and relaxing activity. Highly recommended .
The only thing that would improve it is taking some cake along as it would make John especially happy.

Had a great day on the Yacht Sailing Milebuilder with John - just going over some of the basics following my first couple of days sailing last year. Lovely weather, great location and John has a great knack of communicating in a clear, engaging and practical way which makes for a very enjoyable learning experience. Would highly recommend to other beginners wanting to learn the basics in a friendly environment. Looking forward to doing a couple more days in June!

Having done a day sailing course with John in the summer, we booked again to do a 1-day RYA Diesel engine course. We all found it really interesting and having had no prior experience found it easy to follow. We would all now be comfortable doing routine maintenance on our own Diesel engines, winterising them and troubleshooting when out. John delivered a good mix of theory and most importantly hands-on practice on a working Volvo Penta engine.

I wanted a 'different' present for my husband as how many socks can a man use? My husband has sailing experience for 60 years but hasn't sailed for the last few years. I was concerned this 'fun day' may be just a starter level, but Deirdre had an amazing knack of making the 3 hours relevant for all levels. She made me feel safe and I wasn't even going out on the water. My husband really enjoyed the morning and said it had been the ideal present. As I waved them off it even made me think I could get into sailing again it looked such fun! I would not be put off if you think this is just for beginners it isn't it is for anyone keen to get out there on the water in Morecambe Bay!

Carolyn and I were recommended by a friend to seek out Bay Sea School to learn how to sail, and what a great recommendation that proved to be. We have just completed the RYA Learn to Sail course under the tutelage of Deirdre and John and both instructors are second to none. The relaxed, calm and friendly manner in which they teach creates the perfect environment for learning, especially when out on the boat. As well as the learning experience, they have given us the desire to buy a boat and progress through the ranks. Bay Sea School will be seeing a lot more of us and I would recommend that anyone wishing to experience sailing a yacht, or to improve their current skills, to make Bay Sea School your first port of call.
John.

My wife and I had been looking to get an initial introduction to sailing and the Bay Sea School was the only opportunity we identified in the north-west. The "Fun-Sail" is a bit of a misnomer, as whilst it was a thoroughly enjoyably experience, it was also very informative. It quickly became evident that John was a competent and experienced sailor and is very capable and willing to dispense his knowledge to the uninitiated. You are involved in the associated activities from start to finish so its not a case of 'sitting on your hands' whilst someone else does all the work.

If you are looking for an introduction to sailing or just wanting to spend a few hours on the sea, then this is the place to go.
