I like Riverhill - it's a very pretty garden with interesting woodland and good for kids. Particularly nice at this time of year, with bluebells in the woods and they have various events throughout the year. Unfortunately, the café is VERY disappointing. We spent £5 on a cheese and chutney roll which wasn't enough to even nearly fill us. Overall,... More

Natural bluebell woods, with rhodendrons ,walks with woodland hides to delight the children who can look for the numbered hidden bunnies, the reward is a bag of chocolate Easter eggs.Good play area with an adventure trail and slides. Good cafe with a very welcome pot of tea and delicious cakes but also tables for own picnics.

We went last year for the Easter hunt and it's got even more better! The staff are all so friendly and seem to genially care that you have a good time. The Easter hunt was free and great fun. Although we never found one of those pesky bunnies! The cafe was busy, be prepared to wait. The yeti was the... More

With two slightly wobbly octogenarians in tow, the disabled parking and flat gravel path to the cafe was a real help. Delicious coffee and cake and the staff very patient and helpful. Beautiful surroundings (well, what we were able to access given our limited mobility.) Nevertheless, a resounding success for us...apart from one tiny observation...the noise of the coffee grinder... My son of 6 and I met up with my wife and had a lovely lunch in the cafe, which we though was excellent, good selection of food and drink and quick service too! I went back to work but they stayed on and had lovely walk around the gardens and did the Easter Egg trail and had a good... More

A group of friends and our children aged 3-7 went here for a day out. It's a really pretty location, and has a fantastic outside play area. Easter crafts had been arranged which all the children enjoyed. A lovely day out on a sunny day!

My first visit to the gardens and won't be the last. A beautiful place to visit and to soak up the history of what went into creating it in the first place. As I garden for a living it was nice to see that the planting and layout was sympathetic. This is a garden as it should be !!! The cafe... More

Our son has been using the bike trail onsite with his bike club all through the winter so when we came at the beginning of April we knew the cafe would be open for the first time. We were aware from checking the website that the cafe was accessible without buying an entry ticket so made our way down the... More

We are very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your visit last week. Although there is no charge for simply visiting the cafe, all visitors do need to ‘check in’ at the ticket office, apologies if this wasn’t made clear. We work hard to ensure that all our visitors receive a warm welcome either from our volunteers in the ticket office... More

The gardens are pretty, we went in April, so, many flowers had not emerged yet. However for the price, there is not much to see or do for older children and we had walked round the whole place including stopping to see things in an 1hr and 20. The maze is not yet grown and is for every young children.... More
