Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been to 'Plant and Play' on two separate occasions with two Primary one classes. The content of our trip was action packed...mini-beast hunting, plant identification, seed sorting, craft, planting and story time. Every child was entertained for the duration of the trip in a safe and enclosed environment. This was a really worthwhile trip that I will be repeating in the future.

Thank you for this lovely review :) We have a lot of Primary school visits to the garden and I am happy to hear that you are also finding this educational and fun! With activities suitable for primary 1-6 and with the ability to work with your topics the garden can be perfect for a school outing. So far we have covered mini beasts, the outdoors, growing things, Spring, Autumn, Winter, planting, and the tiny seed. Thank you and please keep the garden in mind for future school trips.

Brilliant day!!!
We found Plant and Play through Netmums when searching for something different for our daughters 6th birthday party.
We contacted Vikki and had a chat about what was on offer, all sounded good so we went ahead and booked straight away for 15 kids.
Vikki told us about the added attraction of Casey's Creatures experience with the meerkat, snake, lizard, owl, tarantula and various other creepy crawlies!!!!
We decided that was definitely for us and how glad are we that we did????
It was amazing, all the kids (even these who were a bit timid) absolutely loved it.
They all got the opportunity to touch the animals and we even got to see the monitor lizard have his lunch, a mouse (dead of course!!) which the kids thought was brilliant!!!
Pixi Prickles the resident rescued hedge-hog was an instant hit with all the kids as was the 'blonde' African desert hedge-hog, very cute!!
After the animals Vikki took over and did some crafts with the kids before they potted and planted their very own seeds in little pots, my kids can't wait to see what grows!!
After that we had lunch and although Plant and Play don't have food making facilities I went to McD's which is 5 mins away and returned with 15 Happy Meals which went down a storm....... (literally as we had a thunderstorm overhead at the time!!)
A bit of playtime in the garden afterwards and then ready to head home.
The kids all had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and we got them to bed early last night as they were knackered after all the fun!!!
All in all a fantastic day and big thanks to Vikki and Casey for making the day special!!
We will definitely be back over the summer holidays for some of the activities that are planned,
Thanks Vikki

Thank you for your amazing review, I am really pleased that you all had a fantastic time for your daughters birthday party. It really was a bit stormy that day but at least it was dry and the kids got to play out in the garden with the distant rubble of thunder in the background lol Caseys creatures is a fabulous addition to any birthday party and the kids learn so much through this interactive show. I was also very impressed at how much the kids already knew about most of the animals that he brought to visit. Thank you for booking Plant & Play for a birthday party and I look forward to the next time you come to visit the garden. Please feel free to post any photos from the party to the page.

Visited for the first time on Easter Saturday with my two children (6 and 3). Vicki was great with them all, with plenty of activities to keep them entertained for the full two hours! Time flew past in the blink of an eye with some educational bits thrown in for good measure (I never knew you could have stripy ladybirds!!). Can't wait to return soon - it's my new favourite thing to do :)

Thank you for your lovely review! I am glad that you and your children found the garden fun and educational! I love showing the different ladybird types and what ladybird larvae look like - it gives the kids something new to look for in their own gardens at home :) Thank you and I look forward to having you all back for another visit.

I visited with my two children aged 4 and 7 and they both loved it. It was freezing but they loved the garden, really fun and educational. I even learned a few new things about ladybirds and bugs. The craft was lovely and we have a really great purple pea plant that the children can not wait to eat. Really looking forward to coming back in the summer so we can experience another great day out without ours coats. Well worth a visit😀

Thank you for your review, yes I agree we had some cold days during the winter but the weather is changing and I look forward to having you all back in the better weather. Hopefully the additional heaters installed inside will help on colder days, thank you for braving the garden and taking part in the outside activities despite the weather. Although I would still bring a coat even if it is the Summer when you return :) Thank you.

I discovered this little gem of a spot last summer much to my delight. It is the perfect place to take your children to for something a little bit different. Also it can be tricky enough finding somewhere to suit all the family but Plant and Play caters for all ages. My boys (aged 1 and 4 at the time) had an absolute ball! Bug hunting, digging, dancing in the bubbles, making crafts and learning. I cannot recommend this place enough. Love, love, love it :-) Definitely worth a try and I guarantee you will want to return again and again.

Had a brilliant time at Plant and Play with my 9 year old. Craft, quizzes, spring hunts and planting were all great. I found it really educational for ME - never mind my daughter! I would totally recommend Plant and Play for an afternoon out. Vikki is incredibly friendly, (and knowledgeable!) and her love of the garden is totally infectious! I just hope we can do her proud and keep the little seeds we planted alive at home!

Vicki had a wide range of activities that amused my 7 and 2 year old children. Lovely crafts and plants to take home as well as a very memorable treasure hunt and bug hunt! Highly recommend and great value for money.

Thank you very much :) I love that the garden is suitable for a wide variety of ages and that each session can be adjusted when the children arrive depending on their age. The crafts are always good fun, especially making the little fairy houses! And who doesn't like getting a big mucky and hunting for garden bugs!! I look forward to hopefully having you all back out for another visit :)Thanks, Vikki.

My son had an amazing 8th birthday party here. The kids made their own pizzas, played games, did crafts while they were in the oven then ate the delicious pizzas and then did some planting. The two hours flew by and all we needed to bring was the cake. Hassle free and "best birthday ever" sais my son! He now also attends the clubs and always has an amazing time!
PS: make sure you get some pizza as well it is scrumptious....

Thank you very much for your pizza party review! I have to say that Jonny The BBQ Chef makes the best pizza I have ever eaten and it is amazing to run this party package with him at Plant & Play Wildlife Garden! Your party was fantastic, the kids were brilliant and I love having your family at my after school session also! Looking forward to seeing you all again very soon. Thank you, Vikki

Very entertaining and educational for children, they will learn about bugs and plants in an enjoyable way. Perfect in rain or sunshine as there's lots to do. Vikki who runs it is full of enthusiasm and has great patience with children.

We have held two very different parties in Play & Play - a fairy-themed party and, most recently, a pizza party. Both were excellent fun, very engaging and entertaining for the children, and relaxing for the grown-ups. A perfect combination! Vikki has a great way of keeping you children captivated, and the recent pizza party resulted in thirteen delicious pizzas. All very impressive.

Thank you very much for your lovely review! Yes both parties were fantastic, thank you for your repeat business at the garden! With so many party options now to choose from I often have families returning the following year! The pizza was very yummy and the kids really enjoyed themselves while the parents got a chance to relax! Maybe next year it will be the animal show ;)
