We had the pleasure of visiting Lanhydrock today for their Xmas tour. We cannot fault the staff - they were friendly and helpful, there to answer questions and it was no problem chatting to the guides who were dressed in period costume. The kitchen was laid out in full with food like a typical victorian christmas spread. Dress up available... More

Around the house there is a large country park & gardens around the house with a church close at hand: we didn't go into th chuch this time as there was a service under way. The interest of Lanhydrock's rooms is varied: there aren't huge works of art or a specialist collection. Instead a visitor gets not only a view... More

I have long promised myself a visit to Landhydrock, which I have always thought was the jewel in the National Trust's Cornish crown. Finding myself vaguely in the area, albeit well out of season, I was delighted to check the website and find both the house and gardens were open. I made the one hour journey to get to Lanhydrock...... More

We don't really visit houses and gardens but took an aunt here who had always wanted to go. It really is a lovely place. With transport from the car park to the house if you need it, we certainly enjoyed our time at Lanhydrock.

Location has fantastic amenities and there is so much to do. There is a restaurant, cafe and ice cream parlour. The house and garden are interesting to explore. large parts are wheelchair friendly as there is a list in the house Overall it is highly recommended

We have so much more to see. Beautiful gardens and lots to see. The lady who was doing the tour in the house was very informative and told the story of the house very well. can't wait to go back and see some more. The little one loved the children's play area too.

Southwest England is so lovely - rural, picturesque, friendly and seemingly unaffected. This home shows another side of the area. It is a magnificent country home with beautiful well tended gardens. The docents are quite knowledgeable and helpful. Truly worth a visit.

Live near here so visit on a regular basis. Still find the house and estate fascinating. Been on sunny and wet days and love it. Can get busy during hols. The cafes are good and in general the staff friendly. Worth the visit every time. The walks down the hill to Respryn and along the river to the Bodmin Parkway... More

A rainy day in October didn't spoil our outing. Friendly shuttle to the house from the parking lot for the two of us who don't walk as well as we once did. Even in the rain, the entrance to the house is magnificent. Very nice hosting that was informative but not dominating. I particularly liked the "down stairs" kitchens. A... More

Beautiful woodland walks that will take hours to explore! Dogs are only allowed in the woodland not the gardens which I found rather annoying considering a lot of other places allow them? Which makes it a rather expensive woodland walk but hey!
