My wife and I popped into the Windsor castle for a quick lunch an a Wednesday, on enquiring about the gov £10 / 50% participation was told that they are not in it. This must be the only pub restaurant not offering this, even so as we were there we decided to stay and sat down and ordered. Although the tables were set out for social distancing it wasn't very full. So why it took nearly an hour to serve simple fish and chips and gammon with salad baffles me. So for £34 for 3 people with one drink each and 3 lunch time specials isn't a good deal. So come on guys, get onto the Government meal participation to help us locals ( yes those that visit even in winter after the holiday makers have gone ! ) and then speed up the waiting time please.

Went for food with friends. Food terrible, burger overcooked, bun stale, pulled beef mostly fat, very over priced. Management rude, Only good thing was the company.

Visited here recently with a large group and the staff and chef kindly accomodated are changes to some of the meals. Food was really good and lovely and hot. Nice to see the side salad that came with some of the meals had a bit more variety than most places.Personally though I would like to see a few more different items on the menu from the current selection

This pub has a wonderful setting with great views over the countryside. We ordered roast dinners and they arrived barely warm with a very sad compliment of vegetables. Parsnips carrots and red cabbage which were all over cooked. No green veg at all. For pudding we ordered ice cream and the caramel slice with ice cream. When this turned up the ice cream looked decomposed and was totally inedible. We complained to the manager and he mumbled about the heating lights needed to be adjusted to keep the food hot. They had a new chef and the pub had only recently changed hands. As far as the ice cream was concerned he took it away but returned later and said he had no more vanilla only cholocate and that did not look good. At no point was there any apology offered. It is a great shame as our friend had told us she had previously enjoyed a great meal at this pub when it was a family run concern.
