A genuine Free House selling real ales brewed by independent breweries, from all over the UK. Farm house ciders for our apple loving friends. We also stock wines which have been selected by the experts at Majestic Wines. So with all bases covered. Its all been wrapped up in and old Victorian coach house which has been tastefully decorated to enhance all of the features. Which most pubs have seen ripped out over the years. The place is a must

Was in here today - Not been in here since Pandemic- but a Pub like the old day - Community style pub with homely atmosphere - chatted to the Widnes born Landlord - very nice guy - oh yes - and great selection of craft beers - can well recommend.

A wonderful local pub, good selection of beers, great kitchen serving pizza and salads. Almost very welcoming, nice chilled out crowd. A hidden gem if ever there were one

Excellent selection of draft beer and cider. Good selection of bar snacks. Proper feels like a pub vibe. Eclectic mix of young and old, talk of white pizzas in October. Difficult to define why but Pizzas are slightly crispier - therefore better than when last reviewed.

Such a lovely spot! Tucked away on a side road, yet only 10 minutes away on foot from the hustle and bustle of Richmond town centre, The Mitre is a veritable oasis of tranquillity, clearly treasured by the locals. With great outside space, both at the front with its cosy patio area and at the rear with its lovely bear garden, it serves a good selection of ales and an amazing pizza, fully prepared from scratch on the premises with the best fresh Italian ingredients! The salads aren't half bad either: their burrata literally melts in your mouth! Service by our lovely waitress was friendly and very professional, attentive but not overbearing. Unfortunately I realised too late that there was live music in the garden, so I missed out on that! I'll be back for that additional treat very soon! PS I nearly forgot: loved Rudi, the resident dog. So well behaved and friendly!

Great cozy little pub, original features, good beer, nice pizza, friendly landlord and a local legend of a pub dog, but sadly no longer welcomes families. After some confused rules around no kids after 8pm then 7pm on Thursday through Saturday (understandable when it was busy) it's now no kids after 6pm any day of the week. Shame as our two impeccably-well behaved used to love going there for pizza. I appreciate lots of people (and likely the majority of the entrenched regulars) would prefer it adult only, but there were rarely any other kids in there.

Great selection of beers, cosy fire and cute pub dog but the Christmas tree lights were quite intense. Would definitely pay another visit

Great old fashioned pub with loads of character and charm. The landlord was great and the dog visits you when you arrive .. Worth a visit

It’s a really good authentic pub with an excellent selection of beer and cider that also serves really authentic properly made - bases made from scratch - pizza. I already liked the pub but with the addition of pizza my wife and child are totally on board. The garden has a roof so if you are worried about the weather don’t be.
