Interesting step back in time. Kitchens very good, lovely gardens, very much a time warp back a few hundred years. Nice cafe by the kitchen garden too. Also a lovely spot to go for a walk by the thames

We have visted Ham house on many occasions as we live in the area. The house and gardens are interesting and there is also a good coffee shop with lots of outdoor seating.

A fabulous, historic house and gardens by the Thames well worth a visit. Beautifully restored by the National Trust, particularly the gardens. We enjoyed the free guided tour of the garden and had lunch in the Orangery (never cheap in NT properties but very nice...More

We visited here over the Bank Holiday weekend so I wasn't sure if we would be stuck in queues and it would be really busy. However, we were pleasantly surprised - no crowds at all. The house is lovely to wander around and the guides...More

We caught the ferry across the Thames, and took the short walk to the house, which seems the quickest route from Twickenham to reach the house. The house is lovely! You get a real sense of period, you can smell the period, with some fantastic...More

We visited Ham House on a gloomy wintry day in March. On paying the entrance fee I was given some leaflets which on closer inspection were all information about the National Trust and an invitation to join - no information at all about the house...More

An interesting house, which manages to retain a real period atmosphere. The staff were very engaging and knowledgeable, and the "Stitch in Time" exhibition is fascinating. Beautiful grounds provide a welcome oasis in busy Richmond.

It's not easy getting to Ham House, but approaching it from the river (via the Hammerton ferry) on a fine day made it feel a bit special. The early 17th century house is atmospheric and you really can understand how it felt to live here...More
