Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a new tour with Paul who is as always an excellent guide. Commencing at Kew Bridge and ending at Hammersmith Bridge with a 30 minute refreshment break at the spectacular Chiswick House Gardens, Paul’s tour provides some history of key areas of note with interesting facts about past residents and the buildings. We also had an impromptu meet when we stopped at St. Paul’s church in Grove Park with a member of the congregation who provided some additional insightful information and we even had the opportunity to take a look inside, which was an added bonus.
Paul’s passion for his tours is second to none and you are guaranteed a great few hours. London is not just about being in the centre of it. You will find Paul’s tours give you a glimpse of what else London is about and has to offer as a tourist.
Thanks Paul! Looking forward to our next tour.

Me and my sisters organised a walking tour around Richmond for our dad's birthday as he is bit of a history buff. He was not disappointed at all! Paul our guide was funny, friendly and knowledgable, we had so much fun and got learn so many new things about the area we had just moved to. If you are after a delightful, fun and interesting day out I would 100% recommend the walking tour with Paul!

What a delight it was to learn so much about the area I'd grown up in and around. Paul's historical knowledge of Kew and Brentford was extensive. He walked and talked us through a famous Roman battleground to the site of the Palimatarian uprising and the long-forgotten palace on the site of the Kew Gardens car park. We even saw a seal bobbing about on the Thames near the Brentford Project. We can't recommend a local history lesson from Paul enough. We're now keen to know what else we don't know about where we live, so we're doing the Richmond & Twickenham next.

We met at Kew Bridge and our guide, Paul, took us along the river, through the gardens of Chiswick House where we stopped for a delicious lunch, then back along the river to Hammersmith (with a quick stop at a fantastic deli). It was a long walk but thoroughly enjoyable. There is so much history in the area and some gorgeous houses. As in previous tours, we learnt interesting facts from thousands of years ago right up to the present day. I'm really looking forward to joining another of Paul's walking tours; they are always thoroughly enjoyable and fascinating.

We just came back from a wonderful 4 hour private guided tour of Brentford and Isleworth finishing in Richmond after starting in Kew. We're local residents but it was so nice to have someone put into context the wonderful and nuanced history and differences between genteel Kew and rather industrial and fast gentrifying Brentford. Almost every time we stopped we said, yes we had some idea of this or that, but hadn't known much about it. We will definitely be back again for another tour! Paul was full of detail and amusing information. Great fun.

We had a fabulous informative walk through Richmond with our guide Paul. He was so knowledgeable about historical events but interspersed it with snippets of where rock stars once lived and played. We especially enjoyed seeing where Ted Lasso was filmed. It was amazing to see the glorious view from Richmond Hill and well worth the climb even on the hottest day of the year! Excellent ice creams at the end.
A thoroughly enjoyable day. Highly recommend.

We joined Paul on a private tour. Despite having walked several times in the area, I learnt a huge amount of interesting and sometimes quirky history from past centuries to recent times. Paul is very knowledgeable and shared a variety of facts about the area. Highly recommended.

We have previously done 2 of Paul’s walks and loved them so much we were really keen to book for the Twickenham Classic Walking Tour. This is a great tour and we got to learn so much more about Twickenham, it’s history and residents. This tour was so interesting and informative. The walk ended just by eel pie island so went to visit on one of the open days the island was holding which was an added bonus.
Discovery Richmond tours are fantastic and definitely recommended.

We booked this tour originally to visit Eel Pie island as it coincided with one of the few open island days. We were both delighted to discover that we could not only visit the island but be given such a well informed insight of so much of what Twickenham had to offer as well. Our guide was excellent and could have not been more helpful. His knowledge was extensive and his delivery made the facts accessible and interesting. A definite must if you want to find out that there is much more to Twickenham than rugby!
