We struggled to find much information on how to do this while in Trigrad but as we were leaving we noticed a group of jeeps on the roadside on the road to Yagodina. This was it! We negotiated a price (80 lev for the 2 of us in our own jeep) and we followed the jeep in our car into the gorge which was absolutely stunning. To be honest it was far better scenery than Trigrad Gorge although the road is a bit narrow in places. Yagodina village is also a much nicer place than Trigrad, cleaner and less run down! We parked up at a junction in the gorge and jumped into the jeep and we were off! The driver was clearly experienced but we were racing along bumping our way up the ridiculously steep tracks. This was definitely the bumpiest ride of our lives and the track looked as though it was impassable in places. No chance, we continued up and up for about 40 mins and arrived above the tree line for the most amazing views. The day before was cloudy but we were blessed with a perfectly clear morning. There were only a few other people there and we braved a walk out onto the metal walkway that hangs high over the valley!! all in all a great experience, the best thing we did in the area!

What spectacular vistas from the Eagle's Eye viewpoint of mountains, cliffs, the sky and Yagodina. Two ways to arrive at the top - either hiking from the town of Yagodina or via jeep. You can get a jeep at the turn-off for Yagodina and in the town center. The jeep ride is fun (and bumpy and dusty). There can be many people at the top, but it's not hard to find a quiet spot to contemplate and appreciate the sheer beauty of the views.

The view from the top is amazing but there is no need to pay for the jeep ride up. You can walk up yourself from by the hotel and it doesn't take long at all.

Rough jeep ride up the mountain.
There stands a small meta overlook, from where you have a straight-down (scary) view of the valley, as well as to the surrounding mountains.Highly recommended.

Don't waste time on the cave itself, which is nearby.

Of course if you are nearby, you shall go there. The view is unbelievably beautiful. You can get there by walk or using off-road car available in Yagodina.

From the hotel below the climb is easier than it looks and the views are stupendous. Or take a jeep, hilarious experience bouncing over impossible tracks. Loved it.

There are jeeps that can take you up to the viewpoint, I believe it costs 60 leva for a private ride or 40 leva if you share with other people. The drivers are very nice and tell you a little about the area when you arrive at the top, but for me the ride up was just as much a highlight as the view itself! It is a wonderful off-road jeep experience which finished with stunning views and a scary but wonderful sky bridge. Do not miss this if you're in the area!

The journey up to the viewpoint was an experience in itself as we sat in the back of a jeep and were driven by a charismatic driver. You have to pay for a jeep to get there as they are the only ones able to navigate the roads as they are so steep and off road! It is a funny experience and you get great views of the mountains. The actual eagle's eye viewpoint is a platform that jutts out of the mountain side and it really is like you get an eagle's perspectve of things, it is incredible. A must do if you are in the rhodope mountains!

This is jeep tour that can be taken from the entrance of the Yagodina cave ot a viewpoint that is almost 1600 meters high.

The jeep drives up the road to Yagodina, then goes up a steep and badly rutted dirt raod up the mountain. This takes about 30 munutes.

Then, after exiting the jeep, you walk about 200 meters downhill to a sort of metal plank that was erected, about 600 meters above the valley floor.

There are incredible views of the surrounding area.

If you go to the side you are able to see how the plank is bolted to the mountain...Scary. But highly recommended.

Then the jeep goes down the same mountain, past Yagodina village, and drops you off in front of Yagodina Cave.
