Took our son on the Gruffalo trail in Delamere great walk, but couldn’t believe how much litter was all around the forest. Take away coffee cups, dog poo bags tied to tree’s!! I would hate to see how the lazy disgusting people who done this...More

A beautiful place to walk. It was just such a shame about the amount of littered plastic bags of dog poo. In an 1h30 walk, we counted 93 of these strewn around the pathsof this otherwise pleasant place. We also didn't see any bins, so...More

Decided to visit as been such a long time since last visit. Car parking not great with very limited car parking in the actual car park but double parking down the main road - which does cause issues for pedestrians and children very close to...More

Unfortunately, we were there between Christmas and the New Year, which meant there was more people there than in the town which spoilt the event really. Apart from that it is well worth a walk around the lake.

Delamare Forest is a favourite place whenever we visit the UK. Great selection of paths to walk (or run, cycle, horse ride). A little muddy in places at this time of the year but generally well drained and maintained trails. Plenty of car parking.

Had a really nice walk round the forest. A lovely couple of hours. Wandering around the area. Easy to park up and some really nice paths.

This was a very disappointing trip. There were dogs without leads running around, & dog poo is scattered all across the trails. We had the misfortune of pushing our pram through several steaming piles of dog poo, which we then spent half an hour in...More

We live in Chester so Delamere is only a fifteen minute drive away and parking is easy. Lots of signs so you don’t get lost. The forest has areas to picnic as well as cafes and ice cream shops. It’s a wonderful place for all...More

This is a must go destination forest walk. We love it especially in Autumn where the colours are just wonderful. Also worth wrapping up warm on the coldest of days in Winter for a family forest walk. Coloured routes enable you to choose your length...More

There isn't a natural play area but there is the Gruffalo trail and the forest is big enough children always find things to do

Apart from the forestry commission car park at Delamere there are no other car parks. The cost is approx £3 for all day. Well worth it
