Delamere Forest is great to visit for a walk or cycle. It has such a range of terrain that everyone can do something. I am an occasional dog walker and cyclist in the forest. It is a popular place, and the areas around the car...More

Lovely walk. Great for building dens with kids. Ok in bad weather because there's lots of shelter from the rain. Brilliant if you cycle round but equally just as nice on foot.

A beautiful place to walk without getting too muddy. Lots of stoned paths, some nice views of the lake and mosses. Parking can be difficult because the Forest is a very popular place to visit but is easier if you go towards Moldsworth/Ashton.

There is a local train station actually at Delamere. Not sure of the frequency of the trains though. Hotels not in walking distance, check Northwich, Frodsham or Chester for those.
