Just a word about the languages in the Vincentre, as some reviews suggest you need to understand Dutch; indeed the displays on the two main floors are all in Dutch, but for an extra €2 you can rent an audio tour in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese or Chinese. This means you can walk around at your own pace... More

If you know Van Gogh's work, you can find existing examples of his subjects including Collse Water Mill and Congregation Leaving the Reformed Church in Nuenen (stolen, but recently recovered). The Van Gogh center in town is less of a museum and more of a learning opportunity about his life. Definitely worth visiting. While in town, you can have lunch... More

Nuenen is the place where Vincent van Gogh spent two years and painted "The Potato Eaters" there in 1885. You will find a nice sculpture of this painting in the park. You can even join it by sitting on a separate chair... the artist's chair? At the museum (8 Euro admission), you will get a map of the town. The... More

I was staying locally and had a day to spend alone while my hosts were working. I borrowed a bike and went to the Vincentre to find out about cycling around the area. I bought a guide to the cycle routes in Brabant which were related to van Gogh which was really easy to follow and cycled around Nuenen for... More

I visited Nuenen whilst traveling trough Netherlands. The town is very quaint and filled with restaurants and information about Vincent Van Goghs life and art. There are statues and information point scattered around the town and its neighbouring areas. I went to the Vincentre which I really liked and spent a good 1,5 hours peacefully touring the exhibition and the... More

Nuenen its a small village just outside Eindhoven. You can take a bus from the central bus station - buses number 6, 21 or 22 - and hop off in Nuenen Centrum. Its a less than 20 minutes ride. You can easily spend an entire day here if you are just looking to relax and enjoy the village. The Van... More

This is really worth visiting whilst you are in Amsterdam. Will take up around 2 hours to see the museum and it usually quite busy ,but it is superb.

We stayed 4 nights in this village and enjoyed it very much while touring the outlying areas. Only 15 min from the center of Eindhoven by local bus. Much better than driving. We had good meals while there. Stayed at a B&B just a 10-15 minute walk from center of town.

A nice little museum but don't expect original works of art. It gives you a great overview of his life in Nuenen, the buildings he painted, his family etc. You also appreciate his paintings more when you see the places that he actually painted. A great "time line" overview of van Gogh's life. The volunteer staff working are so nice... More
