    A great tour and tasting
Did the Five Decades Tour and had a great time. We have toured distilleries all over and still learned some things (as we do at every distillery we visit). Glengarclas is a favorite scotch so not surprised that we enjoyed the tastings as well...even buying one of the bottles. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys Glenfarclas.

    Brilliant
Most informative distillery tour ever. Julia was exceptional and the tasting after was wonderful in very relaxing and comfortable tasting room. The whisky as always was excellent. Big thanks to Callum Fraser distillery manager and Julia our tour guide. Julia went above and beyond by giving us a lift back to our hotel when we couldn’t get taxi.

    Fantastic tour
Sixth distillery visit this week and we learned a lot of new information about the whiskey making process. Great to see so many traditional methods maintained. Thanks Julia for such an interesting and informative tour.

    Fantastic afternoon!
Fabulous afternoon!! What an amazing visitor centre steeped in history - believe it or not some is nautical as the bar has panels and a ceiling from a historic cruise liner! Julia and Steve were fab in the shop and helped us select some purchases. We then had the absolute pleasure of meeting Callum who was the Distillery Manager. He was very personable and friendly. We enjoyed our visit so much, we hope to return once we have exhausted today’s purchases! Thanks all! Top team 🌟 🥃

    Amazing experience at Glenfarclas 🤩🥃!
We popped into Glenfarclas on the way back from Aberlour and received amazing service from Julia, Steve and the distillery manager Callum. Glenfarclas is a mid-size distillery, but has a local feel and is more intimate than some of the other corporate distilleries. The range of whiskies for sale is very impressive, with exceptional knowledge provided by the experienced team. Well worth a visit!!

    Glenfarclas Scotch whisky
Lovely distillery set in fantastic grounds. The distillery reception is fantastic - clean and lovely historical display. Friendly staff and excellent tour guides! Great to see some manual aspects to this distillery along with some automation. The cost is reasonable too with most other distilleries charging way more. You can feel the pride everyone feels towards this distillery. The wee dram at the end can be taken away if you are driving and no sales pressure.

    Glenfarclas - a class above
Julia did an exceptional job explaining the process of whisky making. She is obviously very knowledgeable. We planned the trip to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday and she indulged him with a tasting of 1963 Glenfarclas. This is one experience we will treasure.

    Brilliant authentic Speyside distillery.
A wonderful distillery that has been family owned and run for generations. That level of continuity has allowed them to play the long game and stay true to their traditions. Our guide, Donna, was exceptional. So knowledgeable and friendly. There are so many distilleries in Moravian’s hard to know which ones to go to. If you are in any doubt then I can’t recommend Glenfarclas highly enough.

Our guide Julia was incredibly informative and engaging throughout. She even engaged our 10 year old in a group of adults. The distillery itself is a credit to the traditional ways of producing whisky. It is immersive and you find yourself among history in every room. I’d recommend Julia and the tour

    Hospitality at its best.
From the initial phone call with Sara the Visitor Centre manager, everything was kept up to date with the tour, cost and time and was professionally handled by Sara. Steve our tour guide was extremely courteous, attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. This was my group's highlight of the 4 days touring the Highlands. Thank you to all the Glenfarclas staff for making this a memorable experience. Highly recommended visit when in and around the Spey side.

Driving up to the distillery site you already get the sense of the brand - Glenfarclas meaning Green Valley, and its distinctive red painted doors on each building, so lovely to see. Our tour guide Adi was brilliant from the beginning, catering for an audience of different language speakers by talking things through with care and attention at all times. He was extremely thorough and gave the best explanation of the whole process, and put real character and passion into each part of the process too - from the family history into the site set up, and from the water source and barley and yeast inclusion right through to the warehousing and tasting. Particular highlights included the best explanation of the stills (wash and spirit) including the cleaning of them, and a view inside to the workings too. He was not afraid to ask engineers to talk through details too - all added to what was one of the best whisky tours I’ve been on. I would recommend it to anyone who desires to understand the real world of a traditional distillery. Top class.

I turned up without pre-booking a tour and the staff were helpful and allowed me to join a tour that was about to start, although our tour guide Rosie had only been there a short time she was verry good and gave a detailed background on both the distillery and how it differs from other distilleries. It was verry good price wise and one off the lowest tour fees off any Whisky tours I have been on. Off course the best bit is sampling the wee drams at the end of the Tour

I have visited many distilleries throughout Scotland, this was on my must to do list. Great small independent family run distillery. ( Also great to see they employ couples to work there ie.. Guides and Office Staff, certainly family feel around the place)
Good Tour as it was the basic Tour I went on. The guide was some what good, however is new to the job, She did give some good information about the history, on the whisky process. Ship room was stunning, few tasters of the range. However was let down after brief information on the sample drinks and we was left on our own, no intro-action from the guide (until we left and was in the shop area where she was chatting to other female guide) unlike the other group that was in ship room at the same time, there guide stayed with them throughout their stay and was always chatting with his group.
I Feel the guide Sarah we had will be a good guide with more training.
Certainly will return, possibly do the other more expensive tours and if possible ask for the senior guide to get the great experience that others have had in the past

A great tour of family run small distillery. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Julia our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and fun. The distillery was on a non production day, but this allowed us to see more than usual,as we could access a few areas closed to the public.
The tasting that concluded the tour was great with a sample of the 10yr and 15yr old whisky. Even included those who were driving, as they were given miniatures to take away..
The whole experience was very interesting for non whisky drinkers and enthusiasts alike..
The price of the ticket was fantastic at only £7.50 per person (much cheaper than other tours) and included a £5 a bottle of whisky voucher.
Definitely a place to visit if you are visiting the area.

This review is for the tour with Rosie - she was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable, easy to understand and enjoyable to listen to. I learned a lot of the history and heritage of Glenfarclas and appreciate it a lot more having Rosie as our guide!

The tour has great photos to show the process of making scotch, is well lit and has great signs so you can understand what is going on.

Tour itself is $7.50, 1 hour and you can apply $5 to a purchase of a 750ml bottle.

A gem of a distillery with a lovely story to tell of a family that has strived to produce high quality whisky for generations. Our tour was led by Donna, who was extremely knowledgeable - didn't duck a single question about Glenfarclas and its production. Her passion for the brand and its story shone through during a tour which lasted around an hour during which we were encouraged to take photographs - including in the hall where the copper stills do their work. We were 'introduced' to the individual members of staff through photos on the walls which was a lovely touch and helped bring the production to life. Highlights: the beautiful aromas which changed as we walked through the distillery, the tasting room with its surprising interior salvaged from a 1913 steamer, the collection of buildings themselves - spotless, with their bright red doors and what was once the customs officer's home on the site. Also, no waffle about the whiskies or hard sell to make you feel obliged to buy. That said, I did buy a bottle (actually 2) and will look forward to enjoying them while reflecting on this lovely place.

We were in the area and joined a tour late in the day. The history and process of whisky making were covered by Donna, our guide, in good detail. There was plenty of background information and all questions were answered. There is a look around the site and then the warehouse that includes some seriously expensive whisky. At the end of the tour, we got to taste the 10 and 15 year old. It really makes a difference, I bought the 15 year old.
The tour was not charged for. Instead a donation to the local food bank funds is requested, a great idea that we happily did.

Great balance of information, knowledge and enjoyment. Our tour guide Steve was great. He was knowledgeable and made the tour very interesting. This family run business has a lot to offer in terms of legacy and is one of the few remaining distilleries not acquired by one of the two big European players. Its range of whiskies is amongst the finest and I would emphatically recommend this distillery tour which we thoroughly enjoyed as a family.
