Away from din and bustle of Chewang, a perfect "authentic Thai "beach. The best sector is when you start from the side of Laem Din priest's camp site , a beautiful Buddhist camp in itself, and walk towards a family -run Beachfront or rather " on the beach " restaurant cum sunlounger called Purestaurant. Baan Occitan also has Instagram ready Beachfront with coconut trees reaching out into the water.. There are also resorts like Baan Wasana to stay. Lipa Noi is fine sand, fine fauna, fine food. And no huge crowd even in January or February.

It was a very pleasant surprise to stay in this area. It is not commercial and a good balance of quiet and having eateries on the waters edge.

It was perfect conditions to SUP and very easy to do so even in the dark as there are lights from the various venues along the beach. Early morning and sunset the water was calmer so perfect to do SUPyoga and paddle to dinner returning with the moonlight.

There is a sandy beach although in one or two places properties Have been built right up to the waters edge so now t easy to walk past them at high tide.

It is a sandy beach but relatively quiet and very clean 😍

Its a beautiful beach where you can find many restaurants. Not crowded & water is nice. You can find waterjet & other water equipment rentals too. Sunsets are amazing.

Rather big beach with waters deep enough to swim. Sand is yellow. Beware, on the beach there are lots of stray dogs and russians

We stayed ten days on Ko Samui and visited few beaches: Maenam, Bophut, Chaweng, Chaweng Noi, Cristal, Lamai... Compared to them, Lipa Noi is definitively the most heavenly : sand is really white and thin, sea is transparent, a lot of coconut trees line this beach.

We were really surprised because there were less than 20 tourists on the beach all day long.

We recommend this place for family or couples who want to relax in an amazing landscape. The only issue was the ferry at the south of the beach: we saw a lot of polluting boat.

Lived on Samui for years. Always love coming to Lipa Noi beach, even during high season.
We always choose to go to what was formerly, Lovely Lipa Lodge resort. (Everyone still knows it as, "Big John's Sea Food").

It is the best, quiet beach on the island by far. Never packed, like Chaweng. Never swarming with traders. No noisy jet skis. There are, however, some good places to eat, sunbathe, get a massage while listening to the waves, float in the shallows and forget the world outside.

This is a great place for kids as the beach is shallow, with little tidal current. There are play areas and pools at some of the resorts which you can use for the price of a drink or two.

Lipa Noi beach is on the opposite side of the island from Chaweng and a ten minute drive from Nathon.

Calm and clean beach, we enjoyed our time there very much. There are crabs hidden in the sand that you can find, but they won’t attack you if you leave them alone. Also there are jellyfish, really small one so it doesn’t hurt that much but you can feel stinging when swimming further from shore.

I stayed in Lipa Noi in 5 island villas for a month and loved it. The villa had its own pool in a nice garden. But I was looking for somewhere to just relax with the option to venture into the other busier areas of Koh Samui when I wanted and for this purpose its perfect. There are two beaches in Lipa Noi - the smaller beach which faces south and the long beach that faces north, they are divided by a small peninsula that houses a navy base. The south facing beach has no restuarants and is quiet and not heavily used with mainly villas fronting on to it. One end has a shallow reef which makes it difficult to swim (you need shoes to walk out into the water, except for a few spots. The other end is spoilt by the ferry terminal which constantly has larger smokey smelly ferrys coming in or out. The beach is also a bit dirty from rubbish with villa staff having to clean sections of it every day. It offers good sunset views however from the most southerly end. The north facing beach is better for swimming and for long walks and there are a few restaurants and basic standard resorts as well as Nikki Beach Club. It's also usually fairly quiet compared to other Koh Samui beaches. If you are staying in Lipa Noi, which is a really nice quiet and peaceful part of the island to escape, then these two beaches offer a good choice close by especially for long walks and a dip but they are by no means the best Koh Samui has to offer.

Although it may seem like just another sand beach, it's fairly quiet and local, a good alternative to the noisy and somewhat aggressive atmosphere of Chaweng. Here the locals come for a sundown swim and picnic (unfortunately not so clean after they leave), and foreign visitors are fewer than up north, thezrefore more relaxed and welcome. A few good eateries and drink outlets will enusre a fine day at the beach
