This museum, set in a chateau in an olive grove in Provence, is the work of one collector and represents the nearest that can be found to a National Cycle Collection in France. From the earliest proto-cycle, the Draisienne, to recent machines of the highest quality, it also embraces the curiosities of bicycle development over the last two centuries. It... More

I traveled from Canada to see this Museum. I was not dissappointed. The cycles are world class and world famous. Many of the Draisiennes and Velocipedes are unique. Their importance cannot be underestimated. It is an amazing collection of cycles and all the associated Ephemera & Memorabilia. I can hardly wait to return. The dedication of the curators and associates... More

Whether You are coming to Avignon by car & have some interest in history, You must visit this place for it s full of the odour of that century between 1850-1950, not in technical sense only.

A fascinating collection of hobby horses, bicycles, motorcycles and associated machines. Great videos explaining their development. Also wine tasting, children's story dioramas and an art gallery - all in a beautiful chateau. Go there (we also purchased the beautiful book of the exhibits).
