Lots of the pieces in the museum are truly impressive, pure gold and very well conserved. You can't miss this museum. Don't bother getting a taxi, as there are a few colectivos (mini-buses) from Chiclayo that stop nearby the museum, and they only cost 1.50 or 2 Soles (£0.30). Just say you want to get off near the museum. We... More

Really beautiful collection! Visit at least 1.30 to see everything, they ask you to leave your camera and cell phone outside, I'd is needed

Of course neither in fame, weight, nor possibly in significance do these artifacts of a Lord(s) of Sipan in Peru equal the treasures of Tut. But, if you're in Peru and come to the realization that there are other things besides Macchu Picchu to know of, these are wondrous treasures in an excellent museum still run by the man who... More

We came here from Huaca Rajada which is where they found the treasures in this museum. It was very interesting seeing some of the real items we had seen fakes of at the Huaca Rajad burial site. The museum is well set out no has a mock up of the various graves that you can see at Huaca Rajada. The... More

These treasures discovered in tombs of three lords (actually two lords and a shaman) rival or surpass the finds in the Lima museums and are an important reason to visit this northern part of Peru. Absolutely stunning funerary masks, earrings, shell necklaces, silver and gold ornaments. An English speaking guide is helpful. No photos sadly and you're not allowed to... More

You can take a "colectivo" from Plazuela Elias Aguirre (1.50 or 2 soles one way) and it leaves you 2 blocks from the museum. The entrance fee is 10 soles but if you are Peruvian and bring your student ID, it is 4 soles. It's interesting because of its cultural information but you can't bring your cellphone or camera inside... More

The museum is included in the day tours from Chiclayo but you can do it yourself. Entry to the museum is 10 Soles each. It's 30 Soles total for a English speaking guide and worth it because they only have English translation on the upper level exhibits. The guided tour takes just over an hour. Note that you will have... More

How To Get There: I took a combi to travel all the way to this museum from Chiclayo. You need to take a combi from the Chiclayo Lambayeque terminal to get to Lambayeque. Just let them know where you want to get to. Total Cost: 3 Soles (return) Ticket Cost: 10 Soles Review of Museum: This museum was amazing although... More

(2 or 3 soles) They drop you at the center near the market, you have to walk 3 bloks to the museum. They dont let even cellphones in, you... More

This counsel has mostly to do with stamina and sensory overload. I was on the back end of a trip to the Bosque de Pomac and the huaca there. On our way back to Trujillo we went to the Museo Tumbas Reales. You start at the top and work your way down, which when you think about it is an... More
