I went with my 10 yr old son To Leeds Castle Go Ape. He had done the Treetop adventure but as the minimum age the the tree top challenge is 10 years / 140cm in height.. his first time.

It was really fun. You get a very comprehensive safety brief and you demo that you are competent with clipping on and off the safety wires / apparatus around the course and the. You are pretty much left to your own devices with a loud whistle to summon and staff on hand if you need any assistance. This was nice as at times just the two of us were up on the platforms amongst the trees with no one in front or behind in sight. It felt like we had the tree canopy to ourselves.

I would say it is fine for a height confident healthy 10 yr old to complete, challenging but not too much. A few zip lines around the course - one huge one and a couple of Tarzan swings into the cargo netting plus the moving wooden platforms of different styles.

We were going around at a leisurely pace and enjoying it and we were there from 11am arrival leaving about 2pm. Gloves advisable for comfort and no bags / bumbags allowed so a lanyard style phone pouch or zip up pockets needed.

We will definitely be going back another day to do this again and highly recommend it.

Go Ape Leeds Castle was absolutely amazing,
Martin, Emma, Lucy and the whole team were so friendly, supportive, encouraging with great communication skills.
My Daughter is autistic and has no fear and I don’t like heights, what a pair!
Everyone was so helpful in encouraging the people with nerves and also explaining everything so well but also checking in on us as a family and different stages of the course.
My other daughter who is 4 overcame her fears with the help of the team and my wife really enjoyed the day and atmosphere.
It was really easy to book and very straight forward instructions, once there, the team walk you through all safety instructions and checked everyone was ok before ready to move on.
The team really made the day for me and my family.
Thank you Martin, Emma and Lucy

A great couple of hours doing the Tree top adventure. Staff are very friendly and make sure you are aware of all the safety procedures. After a brief how to and safety chat (Georgia was great by the way) you then set off gradually getting higher into the trees. Some routes are easier than others but you can choose your way. Gloves recommended and something like cargo shorts or trousers. Thank you leeds castle team for a great few hours, see you again sometime.....

Went for a school trip and when doing the first activity this lady wouldn’t give us any attention and didn’t let us win even though we won most of the games. When a teacher pointed out that my group did win she said in these words ‘we MIGHT have to give it to them’ this then makes it sound like she didn’t want to and we were very confused. We’re not sure but we suspect it may be because we were a group of black people.

I took my 5 year old son today and we had the best time. We did the Treetop Adventure, which consisted of two loops round the course. The first was a little easier than the second. All age appropriate for him. He grew In confidence as he went round with the crossings (bridges, rope ladder types things and swing nets) getting a little more difficult as we moved round to loop 2. He loved the zip wire. He did get into difficulty at one point and I was unable to help him - he’d got tangled up in the final crossing on loop 2. A member of staff came straight over and helped him out..

The staff were ALL really friendly, which made the experience even better. We felt looked after and very safe. Thank you to all of you!!

It is half term so was a little congested on the final loop but nothing that stopped us from having a very good time. We were late starting the course, we were booked in to start at 1100 but didn’t get on until 1120, which was when the safety briefing ended. I was concerned that we wouldn’t make it round the course but they start your time from when you first enter the gate so nothing to worry about. We made it round both loops and then had time to do my son’s favourite one a second time.

Site was so easy to find with what three words and parking was free.

Ladies tie your hair back before you arrive.

We went to lunch at a place just round the corner. The Park Gate Inn. Not the cheapest but lovely pub grub type food and a brilliant selection of kids meals. My son was spoilt for choice.

I took my 14 year old sister to Go Ape for her birthday and we had a wonderful experience. Our instructor Woody was very friendly and helpful. It had started to rain and Woody found my sister and me in between courses, she was soaked through and shivering cold so he gave her his hoodie and gloves for the rest of the course! I don’t think she would have carried on without it, and we ended up finishing strong and had an amazing time. Thanks to the Leeds Castle Go Ape team, but especially Woody for a fantastic experience! We will definitely come back again.

My son wasn’t feeling particularly well when we arrived at Go ape. Firstly we arrived an hour early but the staff offered us space on the session earlier because there was space which was lovely. My son was also nervous. He is only 5 and hasn’t done one quite so tall before.
I explained that he liked dinosaurs and everyone from the hut to the harness staff to the site staff engaged with him about dinosaurs which calmed him down. As soon as he entered the trial section he absolutely loved it and everything else was an absolute breeze for him. The staff and course were perfect for his age. We can’t wait till he is 6 so he can move up to the next stage.
