Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have visited the gallery on several occasions and have bought several of the exhibits over time.
I find the atmosphere to be calm and quite serene. There is plenty of space to see the displays and a great variety of work ranging from inexpensive, original pottery to more expensive wood, glass and bronze pieces.
We have often picked up nice little bits for birthday and Christmas presents.
I thoroughly recommend a visit just to have a browse and get away from the mundane to a more stimulating and rewarding experience.
I should add that there is no pressure to buy anything which I applaud.

I visited the gallery by chance from the road signage after visiting a scrap yard on a nearby farm. The gallery was closed and I peered in to see what was what. Debra appeared from the house and seemed pleased to invite me to her summer opening just wo days later, which I duly attended.
The private view was busy and relaxed with the work easy to view and beautifully spaced out. I hope to return soon to see more of the exceptional work on show, all very reasonably priced.

What a wonderful experience. I visited with my young children and parents on a grey September Saturday.. We were treated to a gallery packed full of beautiful sculptures by a whole variety of artists and a garden featuring beautiful larger-scale work by Maurice Blik. We will definitely return to see future exhibitions and felt so privileged to have had the chance to visit. My parents have lived in the Colchester area for over 50 years and were so delighted to discover this new delight for them. Because there are so many pieces in a relatively small space and also the garden to enjoy, my eight-year-old and 10-year-old found enough to keep them engaged. This feels like a really special place, where you should take your time and spend time reflecting on the work and the ideas and thoughts it stimulates.

A group of 20 had pre-booked our visit to the gallery, not realising a special exhibition had recently opened of Maurice Blik's plaster sculptures, for his 80th birthday. Each piece a one off. We were fascinated by the story of how they evolved. We are an inquisitive group of friends, who are not shy in asking questions, such as the processes of producing the works, the inspiration to create them etc. In the garden were huge pieces, a few of which were familiar. We were graciously welcomed by Debra Blik, who talked about her husband's work, their 'escape to the country' and gave us a tour of the sculpture garden. Maurice himself spent a long time explaining and answering questions with humility and patience. We were encouraged to drink tea and take cake with no feeling of having outstayed our welcome, even though we were at their home. This was not just a visit to a gallery, but a whole experience, hugely enhanced by the couple's sense of unity and our understanding through sensitive explanation, of the effect Maurice Blik's early life has on his work.As people I found them grounded and insightful and would love to have spent a dinner party in their company! I would love to return to see a 'regular' exhibition showing works of both him and his contemporaries.

Thank you so much Judith. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting your group. Do come back and see us some time. Exhibitions are always published on the website but if you wish to drop me your email I will make sure that you receive invitations to Private Views which are always lovely occasions when we celebrate the artists' achievements. I read about Maurice Blik's new sculpture for the National Memorial Arboretum on the theme of wartime evacuees. I was able to see the wonderful sculpture which the artist has created before it's transport to Stafford.
I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Sculpt.

Thanks John. You may be interested to know that we installed the 'Every Which Way' sculpture at the NMA in Staffordshire a couple of days ago and it looks even more amazing in situ. Do pop up and see it some time if you have the chance. It's a fantastic place to visit.

I have popped in to the gallery on a number of occasions and am always overwhelmed by the beauty and care taken to present the work. The owner has a warm, welcoming personality and works hard to ensure visitors feel relaxed during their time perusing the variety of different works on display. This gallery is a must visit.

What a surprise to find such a high quality, contemporary art gallery in this part of rural Essex. Fantastic work on display, and a joy to discover all is produced by leading UK artists, many based in the local area. I'll definitely be back.

Set in the beautiful Essex countryside Sculpt Gallery is a fantastic contemporary gallery, which hosts beautiful ceramics, glass and sculptures from local artists.
I have visited on several occasions and always find an interesting and thought provoking piece to buy as a gift for a family or friend.
The Private Views are always extremely sophisticated and you usually get the opportunity to meet the artists themselves and discover their thought process for individual pieces, which is always a real treat. If you unfortunately aren't able to make it to a PV, then the gallery owner is always extremely helpful in answering questions and putting you in touch with the artist if necessary.
The Summer exhibitions are also always fantastic and last year the lawns were transformed into a breath taking sculpture garden!
This place is a real gem in Tiptree and is definitely worth a visit!
