I think we paid €30 each for the tour but was not pre-warned that due to renovation that we could not see nor visit any part of the winery. We only had a stand-up presentation in the court yard and the wine tasting afterwards. We were there in 2013 which was a very good experience so we wanted to revisit the chateau. I think it is cheating visitors by charging this kind of money to 'not see' anything. However, the wine is fantastic.

Dear Leerberg, Thank you for taking the time to write to us. Indeed the closure of the cellar was very sudden even for us and the safety measures for COVID are forcing us to reduce our visit path. We, therefore, adapted all our prices to this new format. I am sorry that your Experience was not reaching your expectations and I hope that we will be able to welcome you again once the renovations are over. Kindly, Daphné Delarue

I didn't have a rental car, didn't find a bike rental in Beaune, and walked to Pommard. Unlike the unfortunate ones who flew past me in the Peugeot and Renault, I enjoyed the famous fields of the Cote du Bon, looked at the vine, breathed in the air of Burgundy. Unfortunately, I didn't get to the main Pommard castle. Here only by appointment. The guard at the entrance explained to me how bad and stupid I was not registering in advance for the tour. And I felt like a sans-culotte. July 13, 1789....

Dear Vadim, Dear Monsieur.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I am glad that you enjoyed walking from Beaune to Pommard.
Presently, le Château de Pommard is closed due to the sanitary conditions. And we still don’t know our reopening date. If you want to buy wine, we request indeed to take an appointment to avoid too many people at the same time. However, we can’t propose any visit of the domain.
We will be delighted to welcome you as soon as Le Château de Pommard will re-open to offer you an Experience with one of our expert wine advisor. I remain at your entire disposal should you need any information. Best Regards

I visited the Chateau de Pommard in June 2010 with my parents and the experience was highly disappointing. In addition, when I went to the bathroom, and the cook (I assume she was the cook as her picture is in most of the brochures) came out of the bathroom in full cooking attire, next to mine and left without washing her hands!!! As we were discussing having lunch at the Chateau after the tour I can assure you that this was no longer an option.
My fiancée wanted to visit the Chateau this summer so despite the bad impression in 2010, I went back.
And I can only say that it is simply not worth the visit. The tour is expensive. The tour guides are poor with limited knowledge about the region. The one sentence we heard over and over again during the visit was “Pommard is the BEST, we have the BEST bottles, the BEST corks and the BEST wine”. Now I’m not sure how that relates to anything. In addition she told us to buy the wines we tasted now otherwise we could risk that there were no bottles left and that the price had changed (no comment!!!).
There are so many other wonderful places to visit and if you insist on going to Pommard then stay in the garden next to the parking, it’s rather pleasant.

A little time back a friend had enjoyed an informative visit. That was not my experience on this occasion.
The session started late and finished early. The information given was very limited and answers to questions very cursory. Nothing like the detail given in the publicity.
Always interesting to taste wines, but these were not exciting.

We bicycled to this location - it is a lovely trip and easy (relatively flat). We found the Pommard price to be about double the price of other tasting options and asked the reception what extra was included. The answer did not "sell" me, so we rode on. Later, I asked some locals what was so special about Pommard and they replied (in that charming way the French have) that it was a tourist trap.

The tours are expensive, and very poorly run. We were shown a couple of highlights and told to do some walking around on our own after the tour. The tour guide was very snobby, I am assuming because of our age, and wouldn't answer our questions - he either didn't know the answer or wasn't interested or very engaged. Either way we felt completely ripped off; terrible start to the route des grand crus. We spent a ton of cash, and were rushed through in about 30 minutes.

We took the guided tour of the Chateau and the 6 fine wine tasting option
The tour was good and the tasting excellent BUT it cost Euro 45 each - we are used to tastings where we pay nothing so we thought the price to be very high( especially as we were not offered any cheese or other nibbles whilst we tasted the wine)
We returned for a picnic which was great fun even though the weather was not good Unlike the tasting this was very good value Euro 20 each for a lovely picnic and we were offered the basket and picnic rug and hats for free
It is a wonderful Chateau and we gather a restaurant and a five star hotel will open over the next few years

Chateau de Pommard is a gorgeous estate to visit for tasting wine, but if you go during the time that Pomm'Art is running, you'll also be treated to an art show at the same time. Allow a couple of hours to tour the estate, taste wine, visit the art exhibition, and wander the lovely gardens.

Beautiful setting in Pommard just outside Beaune. This is more like what many Americans are use to for tours and tasting at a winery. The tour / tasting is included in the fee. The tour is OK and pretty basic. The wine is good and can only be purchased at or thru the Chateau. The grounds of the Chateau are spectacular with a large collection of modern sculpture several from Dali. They also have a very nice gallery. The owner clearly invests his profits in art.

However, I wish he would invest a little more money in the business infrastructure. We choose to buy some wine and ship it home. We knew that is expensive because of the shipping costs. However we were assured they were very skilled in shipping worldwide. They indicated a 4-6 week delivery. Six weeks came and went. At eight weeks I emailed only to discover they had a problem in shipping and could not deliver until September or 120 days. With so many other options in the area, I would skip this one.

I am glad you enjoyed the visit and sorry you did not receive your wine as originally scheduled. I am not looking for excuses but we had like an heatwave in June and it was not really appropriate to ship wine. For the same reason, We tend not to ship in July and August neither unless it is absolutely necessary. We thought we called all our US visitors but obviously we did not call you to let you know aboout the delay and I do apologise for that. Please email us your name and address at accueil-caveau@chateaudepommard.com, so we can add a magnum of wine to your delivery.

This is, hands down, one of the most prestigious vineyards in the heart of Burgundy; if not, the world! The art collection is unrivaled; from Picasso to Warhol; amazing sculptures, it's simply amazing. And, don't miss the wine... it is superb! The tour of the wine cellars is amazing and every one speaks English, as well.
