We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Worth the visit at nominal price! Give good insight to the ingenuity and talented Rungus community for seventh generations of traditional gong making! Offers Instagram photo of giant gongs and souvenirs of various gongs at reasonable prices!

I like the gong village. Sad to say that this visit there were much fewer families making gongs and only a few stalls had any to select from.

Whole village make these gongs. Delighted to hear the music made by a local craftsman. There were modern gongs, with ornate carvings on them, also antique gongs of all sizes. Interesting seeing them being made by hand.

A village that sells gongs. I didn't actually see anyone making gongs, just hut after hut of board looking locals with stalls to sell gongs.

There were rather too many stray dogs around which made my wife reluctant to leave the car and explore.

It's something to do if you happen to be nearby, but I wouldn't travel any distance just to see this. I think it's just a bit too far out of the way to attract enough tourists to pay for making the place somewhere you "must" visit but without becoming somewhere to visit, it will never have enough tourists.

Great visit. There is a small fee if 5 ringgit. This is 1 out of 3 villages in the area that have this option of visits. This one is Gongs, another honey bees, the third a longhouse.

enjoyed visiting this village where they still make gongs by hand from scratch to finish in different materials
if you want anything specific just ask and they will do it
houses are on stilts and each of them has a work shop underneath
one of the rare places where time seems to have stopped and craft tradition remains

Had a side trip after Tip of Borneo. Had the chance to see how they make a gong. The place will be more attractive if they will come up with something that will make the place more interesting to visit.
