This is our 2nd visit here with our close friends DELL & NEIL. What a brilliant find. The hosts Colin & Jackie are great. Colin is a right laugh & very generous guy. We had a fab time with them. Keep up the good work. Your good friends MICK & PAT.👍👍🍺🍺🥂🥂😀

Good old english pub. We had reasonably priced drinks...I’d have loved a craft ale, but made do with the local tipple. Wine £5.50 a touchy pricey...

Visited here with husband and friend in a wheelchair Very friendly and helpful welcome. Sat in the garden although there was a ramp to allow inside access for the wheelchair should we have wished to use it.
We would have stayed longer but they didn’t serve food which was a real disappointment as we were hoping to have lunch out!

Cosy
Mar 2018 • Family
We live up the road and needed to get to a shop for a few bits.
It’s been snowing all week, so we decided to walk to our local shop.
Of course it was absolutely freezing so we popped into The Smugglers to have a drink and warm up.
We had the kids with us (both under five) but they were just happy to be out of the cold and sat quietly.
It was really cosy inside and my very large glass of Rose was lovely. My partner enjoyed a couple of pints whilst we all sat and thawed out in front of an open fire.
We will definitely come back!

WORTH A BUTCHERS?

Decent enough beer, interesting building, but don't expect a friendly welcome. Would have stayed/returned if Samuel Adams or an interesting guest ale had been on offer.

Nice pub - typical Shepherd Neame

The outside of the pub looks very appealing - somewhat redolent of a coaching inn. The beer is well kept, and there is a car park. When I visited, the pub was rather crowded, and the bar staff were working very hard to keep up. Next time I am over there, I will choose a less busy period.

Typical Sheperd and Neame pub.

Situated just off the mini roundabout in the village of Herne. Parking is available in a small car park in School Lane.
A good looking pub from the outside and a typical local bar.
