A beautiful typical Cypriot village......well-worth a stop.
Jun 2019
Lania is a typical quaint, little Cypriot village in the Troodos Mountains area. Often included on coach tours and jeep safaris but don't let this put you off. It is the antithesis to Ayia Napa, with beautiful narrow flower- laden streets, with white-washed cottages and other buildings many of which are art galleries, museums, cafes and shops selling antiquities. Just strolling through the village gives you a different perspective of life in Cyprus. You are bound to meet the locals, all of which seem very friendly whether human or feline !!! The local Lania Taverna is well worth a pitstop and even does wine-tasting of the local and unique wines. Top Tip ; opposite the taverna is the Pat Thompson Art Studio, a once resident of the village, and now taken over by his charming and enthusiastic daughter which is great for a wander and for buying a water-colour momento of this charming village. Enjoy.

Loved it!
Jun 2019
Thought we'd seen all the prettiest villages in Cyprus but this one was up there. Being small there were not many places to eat and we got ripped off by the owners of the restaurant opposite the art gallery owned by the British couple but that's not Lanias fault.

Good Group Tour

We came by bus. Lots of lovely old buildings to visit. Many have been renovated. The museum, library (free book swap), olive and wine press, were all free to visit.

The village is really tranquil. There’s a lovely old church in the centre p, but unfortunately it was closed.

There are a couple of artist’s shops. Some lovely pieces to buy.

We had lunch at the Lania Tavern. We were a very large group, the food was superb, and plentiful. Lots of small plates, which kept coming out from the kitchen.

Lots of beautiful old stone bldgs., and lots of scenic spots. Locals are very friendly, and there is a great 'herbal
shop in the centre with a nice coffee place opposite. Worth the effort to get to.

Picturesque Little Village
Oct 2018 • Couples
We stopped in Lania en route from Kakopetria to Limassol and were pleasantly surprised. The village is beautiful, quiet and a true hidden gem. There are several small museums, some antiquities, art galleries and very friendly locals (including kittens!).

A special note about the Pat Thomson gallery, which has some gorgeous water paintings for sale showcasing Lania and several other villages in the Troodos mountain area. The prices are great!

Pretty village
Sep 2018 • Couples
It's a little and cute village near Limassol and if you want to escape the city, this would be the perfect spot. You can stroll around the streets and observe old limestone houses or get a good coffie or lunch in peace. There are almost no turist and the locals will accept you with great hospitality.
