Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is one of our favourite places to visit, it’s never crowded and is unspoilt by the usual seaside attractions, however we were very sad to see the normally clean beach strewn with plastic in varying states of decay, to include a massive decomposing dead seal. The plastic consisted of just about every type, including lids, bits of frayed plastic rope, large chunks of plastic, a buoy, dog poo bags, plastic bottles, a large blue container, plastic netting, the list goes on. This had all been washed in by the tide and was mostly covering the extensive area of pebbles, before you get to the sand. I know local heroes go out collecting this detritus, but nobody could keep up with this, it was just too extensive. How can our ocean life contend with this level of plastic pollution, let alone humans. The scale of it made me feel hopeless. This is supposed to be a National Trust beach too!

Although access can be a bit tricky down the lane, the beach is beautiful! Loads of rock pools when tide is low, a wall to sit on and view the glorious sunset. Cliff path either side. A special place.

This is a great little beach, quiet and not very busy. A tea place just across the way, love coming here.

Great expanse of sandy beach nestled below some typically rugged Cornish cliffs. There’s a National Trust car park and a low key coffee shop - a welcome break from the nearby beaches to the south in Bude. To appreciate it at its best, try the evening when everyone else has left and the sunset goes down directly in front of you.

I went there last week with two of the boys,my wife and Dawson the Black Lab.I was gobsmacked by it's beauty.I commented whilst there that the sunset there was one of the most beautiful visions I have been fortunate enough to witness. If you go to Bude and the weather is silly hot like the week just gone then please visit it in the evening and you won't be disappointed.

We visited Northcott Mouth Beach today as a family of 6 with Grandparents and a dog. The car journey there is along a narrow road, but with passing points, we had no trouble navigating it. The National Trust carpark has an honesty box for donations and is not far from the beach itself.
The descent from the road to the beach, over large rocks was manageable with all our stuff, although coming back up was harder for the grandparents who both have knee issues - we had to support them walking up, but they managed it.
Once there, it was beautiful. We had planned to go to the tea room by the beach, but unfortunately it closed at 4pm.
The tide was out so there was a lot of space and it didn't seem crowded (which was nice given the current covid situation), we set up camp and the children loved playing in the rock pools whilst the grandparents sat in the sun.
The sea wasn't as cold as expected and shallow so we spent ages jumping over waves and diving into them. The lifeguards were there until about 6pm.
There is a set of steps leading up to a clifftop which gave great views.
Apart from the lack of toilets, this is probably our favourite beach so far in Bude. Remember to take snacks and drinks - there were even people lighting bbqs as we left. Definitely one to visit.

Beautiful beach, with loads of rock pools for children. There is a National Trust car park and a short but steep road to get down onto the beach. Once there, access isn’t easy as you have to clamber over many stones. Once you’re on the beach is lovely. Anyone with mobility issues will struggle.

This is a smaller beach further up the coast from Bude. There's a lovely coast walk from the Sea Pool along the cliffs to here. The beach has a steep pebble bank to get down onto the sand but was clean and quiet on a grey autumn day.

We visited today and we was pleasantly surprised, parking is a recommended £2 in the honesty box. It is a short walk down hill to the beach. This beach has a lot of dogs as but that doesn’t affect how lovely it is. There isn’t any toilets which is a drawback. If you are not a confident driver then I do not recommend driving here as the road only fits one car driving so it can be tricky and stressful when a car is coming the opposite way. Overall a lovely place to visit.
