Welcome to the Wherry Albion, a traditional Norfolk Wherry built in 1898, and known as a ‘black sailed trader’ she is one of only two remaining trading vessels built specifically for the Norfolk Broads. Spent a wonderful day on Saturday on the Albion. Sailing was great and this impressive boat caught the attention of everyone we encountered. Many thanks to Neil and his crew whose knowledge and good humour certainly added to make this a day to remember. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone and can’t wait to do it again!

We spent a couple of days in June 2021, sailing abord this beautiful wherry through the unique environment of the ,Norfolk Broads.This is a once in a lifetime experience that needs to go on your bucket list.
The boat itself is an amazing piece of history and is clean, safe and very well maintained by the Norfolk Wherry Trust. Furthermore, the friendly crew were experienced, and incredibly knowledgeable of the boat and its history, The crew were also happy to let us get involved in the physical aspects of sailing the wherry which really made this trip unforgettable. The boat is very well equipped, but take alot of teabags as its thirsty work.

We had a brilliant 75th birthday celebration for my husband on the Albion with 12 family and friends. The volunteer crew who maintain this beautiful historic Broads boat made the experience memorable. They were warm and welcoming, encouraging everyone to take the helm and join in and had a wealth of knowledge about the Broads area and these boats. The kitchen below is well equpped for teas and coffees and we took cake and fizz. It was great fun and a big thank to Martin and the crew for making the occasion one to remember.

Fantastic day on the Albion. Lovely way to spend the day with friends and a terrific crew of volunteers. Nick and crew were lovely hosts, knowledgeable, friendly and happy to share their love of the boat as we meandered down the Broads. Highly recommended.

Wonderful day from beginning to end. What a nice way to spend a wedding anniversary. A lovely boat with a lovely, and knowledgeable crew. One can imagine the Albion earning her keep all those years ago. Mind you she is earning her keep these days just with a different cargo.

Just returned from a wonderful day out on this unique vessel. The weather was exceptional, and couldn’t have wished for better. Many thanks to Dave and the crew for there knowledge of the boat, and broads. Would certainly recommend this a day out.

Many thanks to the two Ians and Neil for giving us a fabulous day on Albion last Friday. They were patient, good company and very knowledgable about the Broads and gave us a really excellent day out.. We all had a really great day so thank you all very much.

Neil and his crew were knowledgable, relaxed and safety conscious. The relaxing pace is perfect for watching the world go by, and we had the bonus of seeing Bitterns, Marsh Harriers, and other wildlife.

Bitterns! So lucky, as a local I still haven’t seen one. Just heard them. Glad you enjoyed your trip, it is so relaxing just to meander along.

We chose the Norfolk Wherry Albion to have a day out with our family to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary. It could not have been more perfect. The weather was fantastic & the crew just so helpful & interesting. I can now boast that I was at the tiller of the most amazing boat on the Norfolk Broads. Our picnic was just the best the family has had together....they had come from Yorkshire & Cambridgeshire to enjoy the day with us & our sons were able to re-live memories as youngsters staying at How Hill.
