We enjoyed a day at the gardens on Sunday and found it very peaceful and beautiful. We had to wait a few minutes for our teas in the cafe, but it didn’t cause a problem…the tea room lady explained the gardens were exceptionally busy, and normally so many numbers of people only visited on a hot summer day, so they... Had a lovely wander around the gardens - rhododendrons in flower, snowdrops aconites and hellebores. Lovely views of the Newnham valley. Also very lucky to be there for the flying of the birds of prey, so so great photos of barn owl and other birds. Impressed with the knowledge and intimacy of the show. Very disappointed that as the garden... More

The gardens are famous for the rhododendrons and azaleas but there is huge interest all year round with a delightful cafe.

We saw Doddington Place advertised in the local paper and decided to give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. It is a very friendly place, with large gardens that have an intimate family feel to them. There was a jazz group (resident I believe) playing on the lawn outside the little tearoom where a few staff were producing... More

It was a sunny afternoon & we so enjoyed a stroll around the stunning gardens and grounds. Afternoon tea was a joy. A gentle place where everyone was welcome. Children played dogs were welcome on leads and it was suitable for wheelchair users.we plan to have a season ticket next year.

Came here as a day out for The Hawking experience. Thoroughly enjoyed it, lovely well kept gardens and plants. I especially liked walking through the rockary and the water features. Around and through every corner and gap is something new to see.

Something very magical about a beautiful garden with deep borders of sprawling colour, towering, rolling swathes of manicured yew hedges, lost grottos of fern and exotics, woodland walks with a very touchingly romantic folly and then a completely unexpected meeting with a very sprightly Egyptian vulture. What a very unique place. Dogs are made welcome, just be aware that birds... More
