Impromptu visit with our young boys to spot frogs in the ponds. Unfortunately no frogs but plenty of other pond creatures and huge numbers of beautiful mayflies and dragon fly all which came very close and were enough to keep the boys fascinated. Definitely worth...More

A fascinating history here as you understand the history of the house through the changing fortunes (and allegiances to royalty) of the family and their choice of residence. The wall hangings are fantastic and the children's trail helps them to linger in the rooms. Do...More

I had checked the website before we made the two hour trip to Cotehele. I understood that dogs were allowed in the gardens on a lead. When we arrived we were told we couldn't bring her in at all. I took the trip with my...More

There was so much to see here - Tudor house, working mill and lovely gardens. We spent serveral very pleasant hours here - staff were very helpful and we enjoyed a cup of tea and cheese scone in the cafe. Very good value for money.

This is one of the best national trust properties we have been to. It is spread out around the site and was lovely. It was busy, but it didn't feel it. We also ate and the food was very good.

We always feel we have arrived in Cornwall when we visit Cotehele. It is our favourite National Trust property and there is always something of interest whatever the weather. On this occasion, the rainstorm was of biblical proportions, so no chance to visit the gardens,...More

Lovely place to have a nosey around. Beautiful gardens set in the Tamar Valley. Got to go if you are in the area on holiday.

We visited on a very wet day but there were still quite a few folks in the house and restaurant. A very old and attractive building with an interesting history. The gardens are probably lovely but we didn't get to see them properly as we...More

Fantastic set-up with plenty to explore. Well-manned and very informative volunteers - able to explore much more than other National Trust houses. Lots of beautiful grounds, gardens and out buildings. Accessible due to upper and lower car parks between the house and Quay. Good quality...More

Finding a bit of peace in the summer school holidays can be hard, but this place is always lovely. Cotehele has such a friendly scale, it never seems crowded and has some lovely little surprises in the garden - things for the kids to play...More

If you want to do the House, Garden, Dock and Mill I would suggest at least 4 hours.

Hi, Thank you for your question. Assistance dogs only are allowed in the Great Hall. Some visitors leave their dogs just outside of reception, see the garland for a few minutes (it doesn't take long) then go for a walk with... More
