The Scilly Islands have plenty of Neolithic and Bronze Age burial carns and archaeological sites of interest, and Bant's Carn was a fascinating example of these places. Be sure also to visit the Innisdgen Tombs a short walk away.

Well worth a visit. There are several burial chambers around the island so by the time we reached this one they were all much of a muchness to us. We took this site in when exploring this side of St Mary's. It was lovely, there...More

We've visited Bants Carn many times and are always struck by how well preserved it is. It's almost as if the people have not been gone long. You can stroll among the houses and in and out of the rooms, up the alleys between the...More

One of the better ancient sites I have ever visited in the UK & in a dramatic setting. To some people, just a load of old stones. But doesn't take a lot of imagination to get a whole bigger picture.

This is well worth a visit. Well signposted and a short walk from where I'm staying. Saw the sun set from here - a real treat. Very well preserved and informative boards give a feel for how it once was. Truly interesting ancient site. Recommend.

We walked here from Hugh Town using the coastal path. It took 40 minutes over the rough but well trodden path. The village is on the north west coast with great views over the other islands . The layout of the houses is clear to...More

This is a brilliant place to sit by a big ancient rock and stare off into the distance. Everyone will think you are an intelligent, noble dog (even if you are just thinking about snacks.) The sea breeze feels great in your ears and there...More

Interesting site in a lovely location overlooking the other islands. Can easily be reached via a short foot path from the Telegraph on the main road - we used the community bus to get there. After you visit, both Juliet's Garden and The Kaffeehaus are...More
