Lovely door and bar staff. 75% of the ladies cubicles were locked so that they didn't need cleaning. Ran out of the shared loo roll - there was one loo roll put out at the entrance to the toilets from which you had to take your sheets! No soap, water eventually stopped working so we had to wash with a bucket and no hand drying facilities......I think the gent's was clean! We visited twice - first to see James and the second time was to see Third World and Inner Circle - I took wet hand wipes, tissues and antibacterial for the 2nd concert. Bar - water, coke, various shorts. Carlsberg in half pint tins. Not great but ok. Staff were friendly enough. In the U.K this would be a barn with a Perspex roof - it is a touch more primitive than the P.R photo. We had a fabulous time at both concerts - plenty of singing and dancing and the bands had great audience interaction and participation so find it hard to give it the 'average' score that it actually is. Book an eCab as no-one in our hotel actually knew where it was - it is out in the sticks next to Liquid nightclub - great receptionist in there too.

Seriously such a cool place! With two atmospheres and a random pool that makes it even cooler! Not difficult to reach from main cities.

I am writing this review after attending the Lacuna Coil (Rock'n Malta) concert on November 10th 2017 whilst on holiday... It's hard to tell in the dark when you arrive at the Aria, but it seems to be an adaptable space that can hold events & concerts of varying sizes (but nothing too big) I would imaging that the venue could be open-air during the summer and closed in the colder months, as it was for my visit. There were three bars which meant that the wait to get served for drinks was not too long, and the bar staff were very nice. They kindly put-up with this particular English person trying to order a double Jager & Coke, when I didn't know a single word of Maltese. Thank you! It seems as though everyone in Malta must drink shots & shorts at gigs, because there was only one beer available (Budweiser - awful beer!), or soft drinks and cans of Red Bull. Not cheap... in fact very close to London prices. I was impressed with the size of stage and the lighting rig, which gave a very clear performance of the bands. I had a great view from the right side of the stage and found it easy to get back to my position after visiting the bar. The crowd were passionate, happy & respectful. No trouble at all. The locals created a great atmosphere. My main criticism is that the transport links are very poor if the event you are attending finishes late. The last bus towards my hotel was approx 11:45 pm but the concert finished after this time, and it takes a good 5-10 mins to get out of the venue with the rest of the crowd. Very few taxis were waiting outside, so I had to walk all the way from the venue to Gzira, but at least it was warm and not raining, so could have been worse. I am not sure how many bands play here, but I think Malta deserves more rock and heavy metal bands to play this venue, because the audience is clearly there.
