About
Château Lanessan is a family property, owned by the Bouteiller family since the french revolution. For 8 generations, we cultivate our vineyard to produce our wine, labelled as Haut Médoc appellation. We welcome visitors to discover our park, floral garden, the Horse museum, and of course our cuvier and ageing cellars. All visits end up with the tasting of our wines: we welcome you every day from 10 am to 6 pm.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visit to the vineyards and explanations of truly high quality production. Possibility of tasting the different grape varieties to discover the differences in taste. We feel that the person is really very attached to the field in which they work and knows the family history very well. A very well done tasting taking the time to answer questions. Very welcoming staff. I highly recommend taking the tour.

We visited Lanessan as a tour from our cruise ship docked in Bordeaux. Our only problem is that we were expecting a wine tasting, but that was the least of what we experienced. The grounds are beautiful, and if you're coming on your own, you have a number of options that we could not take advantage of. They include tours of the stables and the carriages, the gardens and - of course - the wine cellars. If you are interested only in the wine, then there are other options there, as well. I wish we had had more time to spend. There was a long family history to the chateau, and more to savor than just the quick taste of wine that we enjoyed.

I keep returning to Chateau Lanessan as I like the respect the proprietors show to their family history.
What sets the place apart from the rest is the stables. Well worth a visit.

We arrived in dusty road and everything was closed and small boy came out.
Not the most auspicious of starts.
However, he gave us hands down the best tour we had the whole trip and took us through an excellent wine tasting of 5 excellent wines (from good years not terrible ones like most of the polished waste of space houses)
Group of 8 of us polished off a lot (with Comte)
Then bought about 12 bottles.
Very picturesque. Later a friend who runs a winery in Napa saw a pic I'd taken and said its one of her favourite wine producers in Bordeaux.
Go.
