i visited chateau du Taillan with my friends last month, even it was in winter, it was open and receive the visitors 7d/7d, we had a very good guide who gave us a whole tour.
The chateau has very beautiful facade, the cellar is a historical monument, very rare in bordeaux.

If you r lucky, you can also have a chance to meet the owner of the chateau and maybe have a chat with her-mme FALCY.

This was a highlight of our visit to Bordeaux. Our host was truly lovely, kind and so informative. We took a wrong turn with our navigation system and arrived 10 minutes late. They stayed open late for us which went above and beyond. The wine was gorgeous and the setting was glorious. Absolutely worth a visit.

Before this place we have visited several wine cellars. The best time to visit this places is at the havest time (Sept-Oct). We were in july-august, so winery was off on vacation. Beside that very interesting story about history of cellar. Some souvenirs (wine bottles) which will not last for long.
The territory itself also intersting to browse. Would not expect more things to do that for an hour or around. Worth seeing for sure.

Unfortunately we did not get to do this tour as our flight was redirected and added a day of travel onto our plans. But the lady who rang me and was so lovely and understanding and for this reason I am giving 5 stars and will be making a return trip to Bordeaux to do this tour.

The winery has seen better days. We were led down a narrow, winding, extremely dark staircase, a serious fall risk for seniors. Then on to the tanks, another very dark area with a few stairs.
The wine was good, not great

Hello,
We take in acount your comment about the light in our cellars.
We can't put a lot of light in the room to keep the wine.
For people who are scared about stairs ans seniors, we can do the visit differently and take another way!
Despite this, we hope you enjoyed the family atmosphere of the property.
Kind Regards.

2nd stop on our wine tour. It was absolutely beautiful. The grounds are stunning and the owner was our lead. She made us feel very welcome with the added extra of having Helious the dog with us. I absolutely loved the whole experience. The wine was stunning. The grounds were stunning. The dog was adorable. I would definitely encourage people to visit this vineyard.

Nice old chateau within easy reach by public bus. Good wine, not the First Grow. Very interesting old cellar, enjoyable vineyard with old statues.

The chateau is absolutely beautiful. They offer a 45 minutes tour with degustation or just degustation. The staff is very nice and attentive and the chateau very well maintained. What about the wines? Perfect! Worth a visit

We turned up for a tour and were told we'd have to wait a short while so we browsed the gift shop where we were also able to taste a few wines. After the tasting we asked again about the tour but were told they were closing for lunch so no tours until 3pm. Would have been better if they had told us that when we arrived, as we're not big drinkers but were interested to learn about the process. But anyway we tasted a few wines which tasted fine. The white and rose were good although the red was not the best. The staff were pretty nice and seemed ok to have two complete wine novices having a look around. I think there are probably better places to visit, but best to research and book for a proper tour.

Chateau du Taillan is a gorgeous place and full of surprises. I came expecting the typical Bordeaux wine tasting experience, but there's more to this place than I thought. If at all possible, I recommend coming on a day with sufficiently decent weather to take a long stroll through the property. There are some magnificent ancient trees and we actually saw three deer running around !
Aside from the beauty of the place, you get a feel that there's a lot of Bordeaux wine-family tradition here, but that it's not taken too seriously. In other words, the price tag on the wines isn't excessive.

Bonjour a tous.

Dear Liz,
Following to your question to Matt, you can use the bus "Liane 5" from Bordeaux. To come to our winery, you have to stop at "Mairie du Taillan" bus stop and walk 10 minutes to come to us.
It's better to book your visit by phone or sending a message by our website.
