Fabulous private collection beautifully displayed. Our guide walked us through the entire building explaining the different types of clothing and weapons. Well worth a visit.

This was started by a private individual. It is on two floors. The lower has clothes, weapons, household items and historical items. The upper level has stamps and coins.

The entrance fee is 2 rial which is quite a lot for the size of this museum. It’s much more a display of a collection than a real museum. It’s a bit old school exhibition not really interactive and no guided tour to make it...More

This museum is not super big and that is exactly what makes it nice and cosy. You get a clear overview of the history of Oman and in the garden there are the miniature forts you can find in Oman and that is really beautiful.

The National Mosque was closed because it was Friday, but our guide thought we would enjoy this alternative. He was right. This is one of the best private collections I have seen. It is housed in the former residence of its owner and includes many...More

This private museum is a great glimpse into Omani life both past and present. The artifacts here are incredible and I highly recommended a visit. The only negative is the “no pictures” allowed inside rule.

I chose the wrong day to visit, when the giant cruise ship had just docked at the harbour. It was HEAVING when I was there. Thankfully I was able to weave in and out and got to see most of the exhibits - such an...More

Old Muscat was very empty as we visited it but this place was very welcoming. Very interesting museum to learn about traditions in Oman and the café was lovely.

This is fairly big museum with three buildings. One building has a good display of old photos from Muscat, one building displays ordinary life in a traditional mud brick house, and one building has a good display of women’s and men’s clothing and household items....More

Use GPS to get there. Billy easy to find. Should be allowed to stay in the US you should have no problem finding a place to park. There is a small entrance fee. Enjoy

There is a gift shop in Bait al Zubair. They have nice souvenirs which are nicely packed. They have variety and small items are reasonably priced.
