An informative and well laid out museum, not too big but with interesting and relevant displays. Even my teenage boys were captivated and not only by the large collection of guns and daggers. It's air conditioned so it gets busy at midday when it's swarmed...More

How do people survive and thrive in intense heat with a challenging landscape? This beautiful museum shows you how the Omani people solved these problems. Outside there is a traditional house, clear running water, a model Omani village. Inside the museum all is modern, cool...More

I lived a large part of my life in the ME, starting in the 60's and so this was an interesting trip back into the past for me. Many of the items on display are here in UK in my house.

One of the things you find out about Oman is that they don't have a huge amount to show you. This was a lovely little museum with an extensive collection of jewellery, costumes and other artifacts. Can be crowded. Large gift shop.

A small museum with some interesting examples of clothing, jewellery, weapons, etc giving an insight into Omani life in the past. Unfortunately, we had to rush the end of our visit as the museum became inundated with cruise passengers making it impossible to see the...More

This museum is within easy walking distance of the National Museum so if you're feeling like a cultural experience, visit both in one day. Privately owned and much more 'domestic' than the National Museum, there is lots to see and learn. A fee is payable...More

Our group of 22 had a whirlwind tour of the ground floor of this privately owned museum. It is light, airy and spacious. Displays include a selection of Omani weapons, jewellery, coins, costumes, household items and old photographs. There is also a cafe located onsite...More

I think this would be a good museum to bring children as there is much to excite the younger mind. Also it is not too big or full of ancient tools and artefacts. Nevertheless you get a good feel of Omani culture and particularly the...More

Use GPS to get there. Billy easy to find. Should be allowed to stay in the US you should have no problem finding a place to park. There is a small entrance fee. Enjoy

There is a gift shop in Bait al Zubair. They have nice souvenirs which are nicely packed. They have variety and small items are reasonably priced.
