Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You can skip it. Few shops, prices in the electronics shop are significantly more expensive than in Switzerland (Apple products). We ate at Chilis - absolutely not recommended.
Last year we were in the Mall of Oman - this one is much better! Hope that helps.

This is not a good mall stop lying and sending false information to outside travellers. If you want a decent mall go to Avenues mall. Muscat and mall of Oman are both terrible trust me

Muscat Grand Mall is a great mall where you can find all the high end brands as well as the International favourites like Zara, H&M, Starbucks and LC Waikiki. The food court is just average but you do have MCD, KFC and Chili's! The best part is that this mall also has Vox Cinemas inside and you can always catch a good movie after shopping your heart out!

There is nothing special about this mall. The architecture lacks character, the type of shops is commonly found everywhere. Locals visit this mall because it offers decent merchandise, and food & beverage under one roof. If you are a tourist, you may want to visit a coffee shop here. But you will not find any traditional food, clothing or souvenirs here. Restrooms are also very limited, so be prepared to walk a long distance to get to them, and to wait for a cubicle.

The biggest problem of this mall is the car parking area. The number of parking slots is very very small, and each slot size is very very small. What makes it even worse is that people going to offices in the building above the mall tend to park their cars in the mall parking area! There are “parking guards” who only seem to close sections of the parking lot once it gets filled. They may not open them again, even if cars start leaving and parking slots become available.

Apparently MGM management are comfortable with the idea that people can park in Lulu Supermarket parking slots, even if it is 500 meters away and summer temperatures are close to 45 degrees. However, with the opening of the new Avenue mall (next to Lulu) planned for April 2015, Lulu parking slots will become more difficult to find. I hope mall management would fix the parking area problems.

While many know that the weather in the Middle East changes, like any other geographical locations, I went in October in time for the cooler weather... but a bit warm on some days. I was lucky as I stayed in apartment attached to the Muscat Grand Mall and was able to do all of my grocery shopping at the local Carrefour (just like my other Carrefour in Madrid and Cyprus), and I was always amazed at the selections. The Food Court had local restaurants, but also Chili's, McDonald's, KFC, Papa Johns Pizza and so much more. Plus there is another mall on two other side sof this Mall (but that will follow in another review).

We visited a few malls while in Muscat, this one was a bit on the small side and looked outdated. We usually just came here to go cinema or eat. Nothing special, you're better off going to Oman Avenue Mall or one of the ones further away.

No kidding. This is a mall. Like you have a zillion around the world. Been to Dubai already? Then you get it. Although, we were quite disappointed about the level of competency of the shop people. Some of them did not know how to subtract two numbers on a calculator. Honest truth. Paying at the cashier took sometimes really long time. We have been there three times. Three times same experience. But, what the hell, you are on vacation, right?

Recently opened Mall in the city centre of Muscat. Still doing roadworks around it so a bit hectic to get in even in a taxi. It has many shops but the choice is fairly limited but really expensive in terms of UK and US prices. It has a good food court with many choices, a restaurant floor with good cafes including a Pauls and cinemas.
Big improvement in the city centre shopping for Muscat.
This is the nearest mall for the the hotels in the Qurum area and the Opera House

Huge mall, connected both to a second mall and to the Grand Millennium hotel. No hassle to buy anything. Useful Carrefours supermarket and currency exchange booth on lower floor.
