Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Peaceful is something synonymous to any buddhist monastry. But this monastry is not only peaceful but colorful as well. Providing a great back drop to the erstwhile lazy city of Mirik, this monastry is beautiful. If possible visit in the evening or early morning when the monks pray. Listening to the drum beats and their chants just add to the beauty and peace.

You can spot Mirik Monastery from Mirik Lake and from there it may feel like it is situated in a clumsy crowded place but please give a visit here, otherwise you will definitely miss something.

The road is very steep and instead of walking up, you can take a jeep from Mirik lake to reach there. From Mirik lake, the distance is about 10-15 minutes.

Like the other monasteries, this one also does not have any entry fee and the best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon where you can see the praying of the monks mixed with a divine drum beat.

The monastery is very colorful from both outside and inside. The interior decoration is done completely by the followers and when we visited, they were re decorating and drawing pictures in the inside wall.

Photography is allowed inside the monastery. There is a open lawn on the side of the monastery from where Mirik Lake can be seen even in bad weather condition.

In Darjeeling, probably this is the best monastery. Ghoom monastery is big but not as decorative and peaceful as this one. It's a must visit while in Mirik,

I visited the monastery with my wife during April 2019. It is situated high atop the mountain overseeing Mirik lake. The monastery has a big auditorium that is well maintained and colourful. A must visit in Darjeeling.

A must go place in Mirik. On top of hill, one gets best view of Mirik lake and town. When monks pray, it has a magical feel around and spiritually uplifting sensation.

this monastery is a holy place please maintain it. when you ask for sight seeing of Mirik it is a point. Usually child Adult and aged monks are stayed here. We asked a child monk to take a snap with us but he summarily reject the request. I mean to say don't force child monk for snap here. its main hall really big where monks are usually read hymn. Due to its height It is also a great view point of Mirik and lake.

One of the biggest monastery with an awesome view of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Very near to Hotel Jagjeet, Krishna Nagar, Mirik. You need to hire a car to visit here. If you are fit and healthy you can walk uphill to reach here.
