Cheers to Charlestown

Great day out. Museum is definitely worth a visit. There is also a small beach you can sit on with a picnic.

Interesting visit to the shipwreck and heritage centre excellent value with a very informative guide book. Shops and cafes nearby with small beach and harbour providing a lovely setting for a day out. Highly recommended.

The tall ships were really impressive Although the village lacks adequate parking for the number of visitors. Remember it was there before the motor car

This is a very pretty place and worth making a trip to. You can see why its a location for so many TV and Films. You'll also find some lovely coffee shops and a very small and cute ice-cream shop!

If you are travelling before June don't pay for car park you can park on road. Picturesque port lots of good pubs. Part of the Cornish experience.

Parking was £2.50 for upto 4 hours. We knew that Charlestown even with a tea stop can be walked around in 30-45 minutes so we found a space in a back street.Extremely pretty and very quiet,we walked down past the few ships and down to the harbour area taking a few photos in the process.I wanted to visit the shipwreck centre... Lovely to see the old ships here, quite expensive to go down to see and board the ships. Shame you cant go down to see them and pay to board only. Disappointed that we were unable to go below decks and only above decks, but still a unique and interesting thing to be able to see

This us the place where they made lots of the episodes of Poldark and pirates of the Caribbean along with other famous films. If the weather is good there are lots of things for small children to do on the beach - rock pools etc. Great for walking and there is a golf course just up the road Excellent restaurants... More

Walking in from the West side of Charlestown from the Dodman hill you gradually see it in the distance. On the last cliff overlooking the entrance to the port there was the remains of the gun platform which was built to protect it. Its a good view down through the trees though not a lot of the fort remains. Walking... More
