Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful cathedral that can be seen from most places in Alba, as there are few tall buildings.
The approach from all sides is impressive, as is the cathedral itself.
Interesting to walk on glass above original Roman walls from the old Cattedrale.

This church manages to combine antiquity and modernity and to create a space of devotion and joy. Rarely has a church taken me more - at first sight. Many thanks for that. Please note that the pictures on the front of the church with the corresponding names are abbreviated A.L.B.A..

I have a particular affection for these giant brick Romanesque Cathedrals and this is a fine example inside and out, albeit with some Baroque/Rococo features. There are lovely variegated pillars and beautiful blue colouring on the ceiling. Also nice to see some Roman remains under a glass floor. Look out for the interesting legend of St Theobald. The historic centre of Alba really is lovely and the piazza in front of the Duomo and open space around it allows a good appreciation of this fine building.

This church is in the heart of Alba and is a great site to see. It is one of the few churches where you are allowed to explore behind the altar.

This church is well worth a visit. The architecture and decoration inside is stunning, reflection that period of time. This is a function church and apart from its historic and artistic impact it provides a welcome respite from the hustle of the markets with a cool ambience for rest and reflection.

Simply amazed with this beautiful cathedral right in the heart of Alba. Was taken aback by the unique designs on both the interior columns and original floor tiles.

The four towers of the 15th-century Gothic Cathedral represent the four evangelists. The facade is decorated with four bas-reliefs depicting the symbols of the four evangelists. Left in order: the angel of Matthew, the lion of Mark, the bull of Luke, and the eagle of John. The name of the city is encrypted in the first letters of these symbols in Italian-Angelo-Leone-Bue-Aquila. The 1878 sculpture of San Lorenzo by the Milanese sculptor Luigi Cocchio is located under the rose window. Saint Lawrence, the patron Saint of the city, is especially loved by Catholics because of his martyrdom (he was roasted alive on a grill). We couldn't go inside because of the memorial service. This is not a procedure where tourists will be in place.

A small church that visitors can go behind the altar to view the choir area and the various types of marble used to build the church. One of the many small town churches in Italy.

Alba is a hidden gem in itself - although getting more and more popular! - and San Lorenzo was a true surprise for me. The square and the front are lovely, and the interior of the cathedral is truly impressive and interesting. I absolutely recommend it.

Such a beautiful church , outside and inside! In the heart of Alba! You can spend some time there , then have a coffee near the church, with that beautiful view by your side.
