Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The whole is made up of a central tower, which houses a circular chamber 7 m high. Around it, there are the remains of an old oven, a well and the foundations of the houses. A diagram, as well as signs in several languages, explain the site very well. €7 with a group visit to the “tomba di gigantisme Coddhu Vecchju”, located nearby.

The site is definitely worth a visit! Easily accessible by car and well signposted. At the ticket office you pay in advance the
Admission ticket from the acceptable price. Through a free and easily downloadable app you can access an online Guide that explains the history of the place. Very interesting from the point of view you are historical and cultural. The only flaw: it lacks such an elevated point for a top-down view of the site

Ruin lovers, you will love it. It's not spread over hundreds of meters but it's very nice. No guided tour. You must take your ticket to the Tomb of the Giants which is 1 km before. Take the ticket to both sites.
If you see a group either you go before or you wait for that group to leave (Trip Tip)! to enjoy the site quietly

This is an amazing site. Prisgionia deserves a a visit or maybe two. The guide spoke fluent English, welcoming visitors from all over Europe and America always with a smile. His knowledge of ancient history a bit of humor and some good tips about Sardinia, made the visit an unforgettable one. Nuraghi civilization predates the Etruscan culture of central Italy with an unexpected amount of Towers and villages ( more than 8000 throughout Sardinia) still very well preserved but not all are available with a tour guide service. We've been travelling up and down Sardinia for a month now and I cannot believe the amount of archaeological sites, natural beauty and mystery of this place. If you ever find yourself in north Sardinia, just make sure to visit Prisgionia, it's just awesome.

We decided that we would visit one archaeological site during our week in Sardinia and chose this one. When we arrived we were told that we could wait ten mins for the guided tour or go straight in and show ourselves round using the leaflet (which was Italian and English, although the Italian side seemed to go into greater detail). We waited for the guide, and as it turned out it was just us on the tour. Our guide, Mauro, spoke fluent English and made the whole visit very interesting and enjoyable. The site is still an active archaeological site, with one of the structures only uncovered just last week. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and it really made us glad we chose the tour as we wouldn't have got half as much from it had we just shown ourselves around. Thank you.
Well worth a visit.

Easy to find, and really interesting. Being able to walk into the chambers of a bronze age hill fort/ settlement/ village, while archaeologists are working. A huge site very close to the 'giant's tomb', Tomba di Giganti Coddu Vecchju, which is only a short walk away. Helpful staff, plenty of sign boards in various languages explaining what you are looking at. Well worth a visit.

Exciting site of a smaller nuraghe surrounded by minor buildings. The archaeological remains are well narrated through signs and handed out prints.
Small café and book-let shop. The tsaff will give you information on what else to see in the neighborhood.

the nuraghe la prisgiona near arzachena ia a well preserved ruin of a tribal leader and built around 1700 before christ. the monument is very interessting to visit, because it is possible to move into the building. there you can sense how the people lived and what they did the whole day. around the building in which the tribal leader had his quarter the huts of the subjects are as ruins recognizable. for us was this small expedition very interessting. the place mediated the mood of mystic and gave a good insight into the life of the native of Sardinia. a must for everyone who is interessted in archeology.

If you are only visiting one archeological site in this part of Sardinia, you could do worse than this one. It's more complete than many, and gives you a better idea of the society that lived in this area around 2000+ BC. And you can really get up close and personal with it: you can enter the central tower and walk round inside the perimeter of the ruins. Pretty interesting place.

Wanted to try something different from just beaches and decided to check out one of the Nuranghes. This one was a it out of the way but highly rated and we weren't disappointed!
Definitely go for the guided tour. These are at set times, so check out the website for detail. We also called in advance to enquire: http://prisgiona.beepworld.it/info-openighours.htm
We went during May and was almost no one around so in effect we had our guide all to ourselves. She was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable! She studies the digs herself, so was brimming with insights and theories into the fascinating history of the peoples who lived here. The were surprisingly much more advanced than you might expect (for example, the stone towers they built - of which this is one of them - have an uncanny semblance to Medieval fortresses, only that they are built 3000 years prior!). The site is not massive yet the tour itself lasted almost an hour mainly because we were asking so many questions!
It's a shame we didn't have time to check out the Giants' Tombs too which is a short drive away as the structure and function is very different and apparently also quite impressive.
