Piazza del Popolo is considered one of the most beautiful piazze in Italy. Is surrounded by building made in travertine a typical white stone of the province of Ascoli Piceno. This stone looks like the marble but is less expensive and not compact as the marble. In fact you can easily see the thousands of small holes present in the... More

This is a must to see, what an adorable town. It takes you back in time. The buildings were historical and charming. I felt like we were in Roma but no crowds of people rushing around.

Wonderful architecture on this piazza, my favorite of those I've seen in Italy. The piazza is always full of people, and day or night the piazza is lovely. It is a great place to sit and relax. Nice shops on the piazza, and Caffe Melitti is a great place to have a coffee and people watch!

We loved this Piazza both in the daytime and in the evening. It was full of life and we loved just sitting outside the cafes and bars enjoying a quiet drink watching the world go by.

We had dinner here following a recommendation and had an enjoyable evening. Certainly not touristy as the menu is only in Italian and the staff only have limited English, but this is exactly the type of restaurant we like. Almost a lucky dip with the meal but all dishes were tasty and the staff were friendly and efficient despite a... More

This is one of two busy and beautiful piazzas, surrounded by historical buildings in very good shape, art, and architecture. We sat on the terraces of the cafés enjoying a great lunch, the art market and the buzz of tourists. Plus: no cars (but within walking distance of a cheap parking lot).

We visited Ascoli Piceno and were "blown away" by the grandeur of this beautiful Piazza. On all sides the architecture is magnificent with many interesting historic buildings. The paving is Travertine, as is most of the stone used in the building construction, so the overall effect is light , bright and fairly white. Most impressive

Beautiful square with the marble and really old buildings surrounding it. It rained when we visited and one side is overbuilt so that was perfect. That side is also home to the all of the shopping options and some of the bar and restaurant options as well. Nice views over the church and townhouse But what's really making it worth... More

This is a true jewel in a lovely city. The square is in the center of town, framed by medieval palazzi and even older churches, is harmonious, elegant and cozy. It is smaller and more intimate than the famous squares in Turin, Milan, Venice, Siena, and other but it is equally beautiful for the harmony and how all the building,... More
