I had not known that the REAL Arch de Triumph was in Benevento. It is spectacular! it is a beautiful white marble that is lit up at night and also recently the city added a laser light show that explains what the frescoes mean. Truly one of the best historical monuments I saw in all of Italy!

Watched a video describing the Arch and explaining the meaning of the carvings. Fascinating story of Roman conquest!

You can get much closer to this arch than those in Rome and I thought it was in better condition. The area is really nice. The restaurant and locals are FABULOUS! The is a little Irish Pub near by. Very family friendly. It is really good for all ages.

This arch is in great shape, at the end of a pedestrian-only street featuring museums, shops, and restaurants.

The arch was built just after the first century AD and is in remarkable condition. Every surface of the arch is carved/sculpted in great detail! Beautiful!

Well preserved. Saw it on a cloudy late afternoon, perhaps not at its most powerful. At the end of a strip of shops. Not for a special trip, but go if you are there.

I was amazed by how well preserved it is. People's houses are right next it which is very strage...to have the house next to such an old monument.

Amazing it's survived so long.......given how many times the city has been fought over in the lifetime of this monument it's great to see it such good condition. It was built in about 1116! It's well lit in the evening

The arch is beautiful and the detail is quite stunning. I went to Benevento specifically to see this and the Roman theatre however both proved to be a bit of a disappointment. The arch is covered in scaffolding which I understand is helping preserve it (which is wonderful) but if you are taking hours to get here it is not... More
