Sadly still covered in rubbish
Sep 2019
Castellammare is a charming little town and worth visiting, but the beach is still covered in rubbish, as other reviewers have said, so not a place to swim or sit on the beach.

Great place to watch the sunset
Aug 2019 • Family
We stayed at a nearby hotel and walked to the restaurants, train station and along the seafront. If you’re a keen photographer, you will not be disappointed with what you can capture here! Amazing views and very family oriented place.

Great view, great service and very good food!
We had raw seafood dish. Highly recommendable!
Ask for a table outside. The sunset is excellent.

Why isnt the beach in Castellamare di Stabbia cleened for garbidge.??? Could be a perfect beach there..... No Its only sad to see all plastic, bottles and dirt at the beach.
But Its a beatiful place to walk at nite and a Nice park for kids to play.
For teenagers and young people Its a sleepy and boring city.....

A unexpected bonus

This addition to the seafront makes all the difference. I love to walk here each day and enjoy the seaview. It is lovely to see so many people enjoying this walkway.

Gets better every year
Aug 2018
We visit the promenade in Castellammare regularly and each year it improves wit ongoing restoration. The avenues of trees and many drinking fountains with nearby shops and bars make it a favourite for an evening stroll to take in the sunsets and dream of the wealth of the yacht owners!

Just Take a walk and enjoy the view

Ideal place for walking and enjoying the Vesuvio view when in Castellamare! There are some cafes and places to rest and drink.

What a let down, quite disappointing
Jun 2018 • Couples
Popped down to the coast to walk the promenade, wish I didn’t bother tbh. There is no beach, just grasses up areas of rubbish. People walk their dogs along and obviously don’t pick up after themselves. Lots of tweens hanging around this area during the day. Had lunch in a local cafe which was poor. For a country that prides themselves on pasta, what was served up wasn’t even like warm, with a lovely Dolmio sauce. There were pigeons invading the tables looking for scraps. The staff provided a poor service, had to keep going in just to get served, although it was supposed to be table service. All in all, very disappointing. This could be developed into a fantastic beach area, with good cafes and restaurants. Take a quick look but don’t plan on staying.

Slowly making a comeback
Mar 2018 • Solo
Castellammare was once a resort town. Bad management meant that the thermal baths went bankrupt. (They had one of the biggest spas in Italy). At the moment there is talk of it being sold and reopened. The promenade has recently been done up and is really the saving grace of the city. It's wide and great to walk on. Although it's not a good place for swimming as the current brings a fair amount of trash. Apart from that it's quite pleasant.
