Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely afternoon spent here. The tower is accessed through the museum, which is a brilliant little display of local history. Much of it is available in 2 languages.
Once upstairs, the views are really worth the ascent.

Small town, but nice. About 15 minutes from Panzano. Parking lot was easy to find. 2 euros for 2 hours. Went through the Via delle Volte tunnel that you can walk through. Has a couple of stores and gelato, which was good. Walked in the church of San Salvatore. We ate lunch at Pizzeria IL Fondaccio. Had pizza, which was very good. We met six people who were at the next table and from Pennsylvania and grew up where my husband did. We paid 5 euros each and walked up the tower, Rocca di Castellina. I like medieval stuff, so it was neat to see. They have a big rectangular table with three chairs that you can sit and take a picture. Plus a big fireplace (which I pretended I was using the floo network) Only HP fans will know what that means.

Castellina was our 'base' town as we were staying at a nearby agriturismo so we walked by this tower before finally going into the museum and up the tower itself. It does not look like much from the outside but inside, you get a feel for what it must have been like for those who actually lived here.

Go to the top for a great view and awesome pictures..

This is a great little museum with friendly staff. The access to the Tower is the main bonus and the views over castellina and the countryside are great. Make sure to also visit the Etruscan tombs at the Calvary Mount

There is a lovely museum with details regarding the local Etruscan history in the fort and wonderful views from the top. Well worth a look.

Visited Christiana in Chianti in October. What a lovely little Tuscan town. In the centre of it all is this castle with very unique architecture. It makes for great pictures from the piazza in front and from the surrounding countryside. I didn’t realize you could go in and go to the top. From what other have written it sounds like a good thing to do. When I return I will try that out. For now I have some lovely pictures of this castle.

It's a really nicely restored castle and affords some superb views across the town and surrounding countryside. There are some nicely arranged Etruscan exhibits, and the pleasant young lady curator offered us a small tablet computer with pictures and narration in English, but neither she nor we found it to be very practical! Not really sure how the exhibits on the way up to the tower were supposed to fit into the plot ( football trophies etc) but the black Chianti cockerel fitted in somewhere?

This castle certainly offers beautiful daytime views but the night time sky on a clear night is amazing!

Well renovated castle offering splendid views of the town and surrounding countryside. The castle includes a small exhibition focussed on Roman and Estruscan artifacts. Problem we found was that beyond the exhibition there was so little other history covered which was a shame given that Tuscany in general and the area around Castellina in particular was the centre of a lot of Italian events throughout the centuries including more recent times when this part of the country was the focus of many fierce battles during the last world war. (Castellia was virtually destroyed by the allies apparently) Also nothing on how ordinary Italians lived, worked and socialised. Still worth a visit however.

While walking around the town, we stumbled upon Rocca di Castellina and it was so incredible to see! This area is perfect for a day trip from Florence. So many amazing areas to take photos of -- especially the little church!
