Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hello everyone, I was immediately attracted by the peace, history and beauty of this natural oasis. Visiting the museum first you will fully appreciate the extraordinary and professional work of those working to protect this environment.
Booking in time the river excursion (cheap) with the wealth of every detail of Ms. Lea and the excellent work done with passion and professionalism by the environmental Guide Pietro that with the boat will take you to discover a wonderful ecosystem to discover and preserve.... experience definitely to recommend and disclose!!

Actually, since the beach, the castle, the pine forests, the villages and the wetlands are (connected to) outdoor activities, the Casa Rossa is the only real indoor attraction for visitors in Castiglione. The exhibition is as well documented as prepared and appeals to both adults and children. You can also take part in a short boat trip from the Casa Rossa in order to see the wetlands from the water perspective.

A fabulous retreat for bird life and small mammals. I loved walking through the wetlands and just listening to the sounds of nature.
No fee to wander the wetlands Fee to go through the museum.

This museum has the best views over Maremma marshes and towards Castiglione d.P. The only language used in the exposition is Italian - this reduces the value of the visit of you do not understand it. A simple guide in other languages would help a lot. For those coming by cars: the parking is a hundred meters away, not visible from museum due to the high grass and has no video surveillance. Somebody tried to break into our car while we were in the museum. Pieces of triplex on the parking lot suggest that this has happened to other visitors too. Hopefully this information will assist the improvements.

Operates very much like one of the RSPB wetland reserves in the UK. You can see flamingos, great and little egrets, grey herons, kingfishers and many other birds. Book a couple of days in advance for one of the evening boat trips (go for the 18:30 trip if you can).

The office and exhibition is in the Casa Rossa - and it's almost worth the visit to see the building itself.

Slightly amateurishly put together exhibition contains some curious objects worth seeing and an introductory film. Italian language needed to make the most of it.

We can see the red house from our near by apartment and we decided to walk by in the evening! Beautiful scenery over the natural reserves hosting different birds 🐦 and fish 🐟 !we did not take the boat tour since it was only available in Italian at the time of our visit ! Also, most of the materials are only in Italian ! The place has an interesting history besides the main biological interest Worth a Dtour if you are in the area and especially if you love birds and bird watching !

This building was part of the drainage project and now enables you to control 3 hi tech cameras, one on the Casa Rossa, one floating in the marsh and one at the far end of the reserve.

As you drive along the coastline, one cannot miss this beautiful red building. It is worth stopping. Fare is excellent and of typical Italian seafood style--very fresh.

This beautiful structure looms up over the reeds in the wetlands of the Riserve Naturale Provinciale DIACCIA BOTRONA in the Grosseto area of Tuscany. Visit it and the wetlands that surround it.
