You can get by car there and the place itself offers nice views. But it is also the starting point for a hiking trip to Rifugio Averau, 5Torri and back.

Drove along Passo Giau to get to Cortina D'Ampezzo from Bolzano. The spectacular scenery and views are not to be missed and very hard to forget. Will recommend the drive to anyone

Val Fiorentina is a pearl. Despite being surrounded by the highest mountains of the alps, the valley is amazingly sunny. During winter time, we were at Santa Fosca village. We had facilities for children, your poppy can easily take skii lessons meanwhile you are drinking and relaxing at Baita al Sole. Summer time, terrific trekking for every kind of taste,... More

I have stayed at Passo Giau many times with friends and groups I take there - the food is excellent and the atmosphere out of this world - you have to go this place for lunch or better yet to stay and enjoy a fabulous dinner prepared by Diego the owner and served by Claudia. Their son Igor is spending... More

Was there during summer 2012 by motorbike and now back in winter by ski. Gorgeous scenery in all directions and at all seasons. The road to Passo Giau is stunning by motorbike, one of the best ones in the area. I was back there in February 2013 during the "Giro della Grande Guerra" by ski. Same gorgeous scenery also the... Words cannot really express the view and the instant friendships that are possible when sharing this place. This, alone, is worth the trip to the Dolomites. We encountered people from Colorado (U.S.A.) and Dublin and Germany -- who all suddenly were of a like mind as we looked out upon the sights. As we were there in the fall is... More

This passage between mountains in the Dolomites is a wonder of nature- except the view around (it's more than 2,200 meters high), the rock formations are unbelievable. It's no easy drive to get here, like many attractions in this area- the roads wind and wind (going uphill and down), but the it's worth it.
