Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

5* for the site: if you only take the climb at €18 (50% increase in 2 years!) The descent is doable, the parking at the bottom is free which is not always the case, the site is exceptional and inconceivable from below and the 14/18 theater of war with trenches and casemates is well worth a museum ticket. I add that the “restaurant” at the top is very affordable.
1* for the exorbitant price of €25 return. Scandalous! The confiscation of tourist sites for the richest always disgusts me. Come to France, the mountains are free (I'm thinking of other Italian sites). But there are people so economically, they are right.

This year too we had confirmation, and it couldn't be otherwise, of how the Cinque Torri constitute a world unto themselves, a true unicum, in terms of beauty and morphology, in the boundless Dolomite region. Always exciting and of great visual impact in their continuously different perspectives, the towers must be admired by making a complete tour of them and looking for them from a distance during excursions in the nearby territories. Absolutely worth visiting, also because, despite their imposing and massive appearance, they are not eternal and occasionally suffer some collapses.

Of all the trails we had prepared, this was the one that surprised us the most. We paid for the corresponding cable car (you can walk up... crazy) and we contemplated a beautiful landscape with a simple route but that will allow you to touch the colossal towers. You will also see small recreations related to World War II that will give the trail a cultural as well as a natural character. Essential

We caught the chair lift up to the top of the mountain to see the Cinque Torrie. It started raining heavily on the way up. We took refuge in the Hikers Lodge and had some lunch. The rain didn't ease up but I couldn't miss seeing the WW1 artillery emplacements so I braved Hyperthermia to run out and see them before taking the chair lift back down the mountain.

Place to see. There is the tour to do with a visit to the war reenactments 14-18. (The simplest) But you can also go to Lac des Limides or go up to the Nuvolau refuge.
Please note, the road leading to the Cinque Torri refuge is closed from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This one is narrow, little storage if there is a car crossing.

It is a place that is very worthwhile but in my review it is better to go up in a chairlift, it leaves you beside the towers and reserves forces for other routes. You can make an easy and comfortable excursion from the Scoiatolli refuge to the 5 Torri refuge by passing between 5 Torri. For me that's the most amazing thing on the road.
We made the 12 km circular route from the Passo Giau shelter and I do not consider it easy as I have read, there are many points where a trip or a foolish slip you go downhill by vertical stone cliffs.
I think it is necessary to bring a mobile app that tells you where to go, because there are hundreds of trails and it is difficult not to say impossible to return to the starting point.
The route in general is very poorly marked, there are virtually no red signs to guide you and those that are there are erased.
For people who have vertigo, I would think to walk it, because there is much of the route that you go along a path of no more than 30/40 cms.
By enlarging the photo you can see the verticality of some areas of the route.

Varied hikes for all levels, with spectacular views. Weather can change quickly so be alert and take rain clothing with you. Some of us stopped at the second Refugio as the trail got tougher after that. But the person who completed the circle said it was amazing.

On a 20 minute drive from cortina D’Ampezzo you can take a cable car (5 torri) to this beautiful wonder.
From there you can immediately see the astonishing rock formations. It is a easy short walk to the Torre itself. You can walk around these unique rock formations, it is a nice walk of around 2 kilometres. You can also enjoy the rock climbers that go up or learn something about the world war and how that played out in these mountains.
At the top of the cable car there is of course a rifugio to enjoy the view with a meal or drink. You can also start other hikes to surrounding mountains.

We made the trail on foot from the road (Passo Falzarego 615, SR48). The gate is closed to cars and is only accessible by authorized persons who go to the Cinque Torri shelter. There is a parking lot about 200 m called Parcheggio Rio Bianco, which was open and free.
Passing through the gate, the trail to get to the Cinque Torri can be done by two routes, one is by the asphalted road, the longer and the other by the mountain, quite steep in several stretches, has up to a plaque indicating the inclination of 18% (I found it wasn't so difficult). We arrive at the towers in 3 hs. We went to the Scoiattoli refuge and rested a little, very beautiful view and nice place.
The landscapes are spectacular, you have to appreciate the way. The Cinque Torri are imposing and beautiful. The return was by the road, although it was longer, it was easier to go down and we took 2 hs.

If you pass through Cortina this place is really a must see. Whether you are a hiker or not, you will be captivated by the beauty of the surrounding massifs, by the agility of the mountaineers on the steep walls of the towers. We did the tour of the towers hike. Be careful, it is not always very well signposted and there is a fairly narrow and chaotic passage
In addition, the restaurant terrace is nice and we ate very well there.

Buona montagna!

Dovrei andare a metà agosto.

Buona montagna!

We are planning to visit the area in September and would like to do an easy hike to see the beautiful views and also see the WWII open air museum. I've read you can drive up an unpaved road to the area and hike from there? Wondering how to find out more about the hiking and access prior to our arrival. Thanks!
