The entrance immediately puts you in the picture of an ancient fortified city which I really like. I went back into time.

Porta Trapani is an old city gate, at the entrance to Erice, along with the city walls. It is in remarkable shape. Makes a nice photo. Nearby parking facilities and restrroms (cost .5 euro) just outside the city gate.

Near to the main visitor parking it is the nice entrance in the interesting village. As many other "porta" in sicilia this is the wall around village entrance and it is sugested to take a look at the fortifications around.
