we were recommended this by friendly host of agritourismo tarantola as we set off for a trip to erice . so go we did. it was a sweet lover's dream.. .quite packed with people ...helpful staff... we bought without discernment because we lacked the knowledge of sicilian pastries ... a selection...which we took away to enjoy over the next few... This famous pasticceria offers a small bar; we had a selection of the sweets and some coffee on their terrace. With reasonable prices and a great selection of Sicilian sweets, it is worth the stop. Be careful not to ask for "one of each" as you'll get 20 different pieces. There are other bars in town with a similar theme... More

Don't miss this wonderful little shop in the main street of Erice. It ranks up there with Betty's teashop in Harrogate, and Cafe Niederegger's palace of marzipan in Lubeck. Superb quality products in a restrained and classy teashop, served with polite efficiency. We bought a large sample tray of a selection of these almond delights and consumed with great pleasure... Delicious and beautiful sweets from an authentic Sicilian maker of sweet biscuits and cakes. Yes most have an almond filling, but they make no apology for this. The marzipan "fruit" is a work of art. No it isn't a café, their speciality is their pastries, and when I am back in Erice, will certainly be revisiting.

We came here as recommended in our guide and on first glance it looked like it had the potential to be an authentic experience for Sicilian sweet treats. The server made little effort to help explain what was on offer. The sweets we had were tasty if all a little similar. A bit more explanation and perhaps some hot drinks... More

This overpublicised place didn't live up to the very high expectations I had about it..It's always packed, staff are not very friendly and the pastries are nothing special except the renowned cannoli

Visited earlier today, told girl at the counter that there were flies and a bee on the sweets in the display. She just shrugged and said she couldn't do anything. Needless to say we left immediately.

The cassatelle, a small shell-type pastry with ricotta and marsala wine flavour, was so delicious we took some extras with us. The sfoglia con marmellata was also very nice; the cannoli a bit stuffy but definitely worthwhile. The whole atmosphere of the place is not really inviting for a long stay, but it's a must-see if you're in Erice anyway.

Came all this way because Sicilian heritage partner has Maria's book and wanted to come to experience. Sitting area a little uninspiring but maybe they do not have to try. Came in day and crazy but at night for dessert was easy. Very extensive selection. Need to find out secret to their white soft ricotta. Great cakes overall.

Everything was fairly priced and really nice to taste. We saw later that you can also sit outside in the back. Which would have been a very nice place to sit.
